Yep. I think its a lot like Chark was, we need figure out ways to get the ball into his hands more. Also, don't underestimate the windows he may be opening for other WRs to get open.

7 should go to Delpit next year.

Lets rehash this after the season. I've seen flashes in him. I still don't think Burrow has figured out were to place his balls for success.

I think they will figure it out and he will be a factor down the stretch. He has also looked really good fielding punts. He will break two or three before seasons end.

I really do feel comfortable with him fielding punts though.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Tre White frankly scared me every time he fielded a punt. Chark made it look a little more natural. But Giles seems to make catching punts look effortless.

Greedy should have the number 7.

run and shoot offense

Because the WRs in those offenses do completely different things than running route, creating separation, and catching the ball?

I don’t think he’s overrated due to his tangibles and him trying to learn a new offense. Although, I don’t think he deserves that 7 jersey.

really makes you wonder why Greedy Williams was not given #7 this year

I often wonder if players get attached to the number they have been wearing for 2 or 3 seasons and just want to keep their old number. I’ve often wondered that about the #18 if players have asked not to be up for that vote because they prefer the number they have.

If he doesn’t drop that pass in the 2nd half I don’t think this thread happens.

I said this in another thread about Giles, but expectations were placed on him based off production in a totally different style of offense.

Texas Tech's offense is obviously more spread out than LSU's. It's easier to get open in 4-5 wide sets. It's easier to rack up catches in an offense that throws the ball 600+ times.

He was the leading receiver on a team with 5 or 6 players who had 20+ catches. You have to go back 3 seasons to have that many total players with 20+ catches at LSU.

Giles was a 3* recruit with 5 P5 offers so if he's overrated it's only based off his production in an offense that isn't really comparable to the one he's in now.

There is still a lot of season left... he may just be the WR that actually catches the pass over the middle that ices the game against Alabama this year.

I think he got injured early on against Auburn. He got rocked on LSU's opening possession.

He did get us some yards on a couple of PI calls Saturday, but I'm not sold either. Hopefully as some have said he will make some good plays this year. As for punt returns I agree he has good hands to field the ball, but seems like he would rather fair catch as try to return one.

He looks slow. You have to be able to get separation in this league.

Yep. And Jefferson gets open. Jefferson and Chase are going to make an awesome combo for a few years.

Burrow just got here, you'd assume he would target the best WR as much as he could. He doesn't have a security blanket that he's been practicing with a couple years.

The fact that Jefferson is his guy, tells me Jefferson is the best WR in the group.
