Only guy I thought of with that much leg. Need to see if we can, unlike we did with Richey, to get Gamble to be clutch with the ever so precious 50+ yard field goals deep in the season.

You guys should remember one Wade Richey. He had a booming leg. But was inconsistent in college.
BS. He was very consistent ... consistently terrible.

I believe that he was 4 of 14 in 1997.

Right but he went on to kick a few years in the NFL once someone actually coached him on accuracy.
I wish we could have honed that aim during college years.

I never said he was consistent in college I said he was consistent in the pros. He couldn't hit the side of a barn in college

I think we all on the same page now.
Gamble can kick the snot out of the ball like Richey. Now we hope he can nail some of those from 50+ yards when we really need them instead of a pooch punt.

I remember seeing Richey put a kickoff through the uprights with room to spare.

Unless he gets a brad wing ego he"ll be here for 4

You mean the ego that's got him on an NFL roster a year earlier than most (if not all, not doing the research) punters? Yeah, that's a horrible thing to have.

Gamble's problem is he takes more steps than normal. He needs 5 steps instead of 3. He's like the Tebow of kickers.

He can get away with that on kickoffs, but in a field goal situation that is the difference between a kick getting blocked or not.

From his recruiting tapes he has a normal approach for FGs, not sure what you're trying to say? ALL kickers lineup deep for normal KOs and three-step approach for FGs...

At 1:17:00 LSU is teeing the ball up on the 35 yard line and lining up for the kick. Before the kick the flag is thrown, and then the ball is backed up 5 yards to the 30 yd line. If the delay happened because of the team getting out of the locker room late, then the penalty would have been marked off before LSU even lined up.

Didn't gamble still kick this one about 6 yards deep in end zone.

I think, the only reason Gamble was even kicking is because Domingue got nicked. Domingue was kicking them in the stands at scrimmage .

Exactly what I was saying when he signed. He's a huge blocked kick risk. I don't think he ever attempts a field goal.

He takes some additional stutter steps. There's a reason he didn't kick Fgs in high school.
