First Corey Raymond was a DB Coach for the Raiders so he should have the talent to coach up the DB's.

Raymond never coached in the NFL. His entire DB coaching career consists of 2 years at Utah State solely coaching CBs, and 1 year at Nebraska under Pelini who is a DB coach himself.

The guy hasn't proven anywhere to be a great or even very good DB coach. Safeties are a major issue on this defense and he has exactly 1 year of experience coaching them.

Fired? You fire a coach that put out Brandon Taylor, Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborne, Ron Brooks, Tharold Simon, Mathieu, etc as top level talent into the NFL?

Then hire Orgeron if we need to shore up recruiting. He'll prob be available.

Proof your post count doesn't necessarily equate with knowledge.

Orgeron would never come here, would do nothing to help out our actual defensive problems and we're doing just fine in recruiting.

So he's saying Chavis and the sideline were not getting the plays into them quickly enough?

Any chance that Chavis would coach from the sidelines until we get this mess fixed?

He had his shot and acted an @$$. no love lost for that guy. was excited to possible get him four years ago. The way he played lsu during the negotiations is something he should have to live with.

What happened to our DL recruiting between 2011 and 2012 that we don't have at least a serviceable rotation going this year? Did the coaches just fall asleep in that department?

Corey Raymond is a good position coach and a really good recruiter.
1. You cant give a good QB 4 to 5 seconds to go through his progression;
2. AM is really good;
3. GA ran some perfect route sets to confuse our babies and it worked, give GA credit;
4. Help is developing, Jefferson, RR, T White and Thomas and Thompson are going to be good plus what we have coming in.

I don't doubt family thinking out loud, but this would be shocking to me.

I have to think he burned his bridge, and it wasn't the Bridge over the River Kwai in the first place. I suppose if Wilson were leaving, something might develop.

The safety's are both lost, take bad angles, and don't provide help over the top when the corner thinks they do.

Raymond was the GA under Doug Mallory a few years back. I didn't think he was very good back then.

A combination of poor coaching and missed assignments. You can hold both accountable. There seems to be poor technique by the DBs. There were a couple of passes that should have been intercepted if the DBs would have used better technique.

I wouldn't say its the talent bc they have made plays this year overall defensively we aren't tackling well and as far as the secondary every time a big play is made its not bc their man beat ours it was a blown coverage corners not communicating with safeties and their responsibilities are unknown it seems. That to me would be coaching and game planning. They can't see this stuff for the first time in a game it has to be practiced otherwise it's all instincts and these guys are too young and inexperienced to have the instincts needed to make adjustments mid play. I blame Raymond Chavis and miles. We will turn it around though. Hopefully
