If there is a silver lining in the demise of DBU its that CLM has a history of helping coaches land on their feet after the season.

Looking back E. Reid and Simon made a wise business decision, they did not want their draft stock plummet further by returning.

Cam vs. Stud = Cooper vs. Raymond you cannot mask the results of good coaching.

Raymond isn't getting it done. Someone on this staff has to answer for that defensive performance on Saturday. Improve or get the boot.

the thing is, we dont know whos fault it is....it irks me to hear barrow say that they had no idea what play they were running half of the game. any team would look lost if that is the case

pretty small sample size for raymond with not nearly the quality of talent cooper had. i would wait to cast judgement for when the new crop emerges next year. we dont have a single nfl db on our starting defense this year outside of tre white because too early to tell on him

Can someone clear up Frank Wilson's position versus Kragthorpe's?

DBs being out of position, not playing the ball, not knowing the calls, not knowing how to pass off receivers to safeties. Seems like a lot of coaching problems to me.

Wow, I didnt know about these comments. When did he say that? And was he referring to players not following the assignments or to the coaches not communicating the play in from the sidelines?

all of these could go the other way too. at this level, you have to have the intangibles and natural abilities and i dont think our current guys have this. we can put it on coaching all we want but both sides should be blamed

Ive said this often. Ball instincts are not something that is easily taught. What these guys can improve on is learning their assignments and where to be.

So he's saying Chavis and the sideline were not getting the plays into them quickly enough?

I was at the game, and then rewatched some of it last night and it was even worse than I initially thought. Looked like after many of the plays the DB's were bickering amongst each other like they didn't know what in the hell they were supposed to be doing. That's on the coaches pure and simple. If what they are doing is too much for these young guys to grasp then they need to simplify it.

Even further the technique is putrid, when we were actually in position to make a play we either just flailed at the ball or flat out didn't make a play.

Barrow's quote sounded more like guys not following their assignments or not communicating with each other. he said something to the effect of it's stuff they go over all the time in practice, just gotta keep working at it.

Kwon said we had a good coverage for the game winning TD, just didn't execute it.

The Jalens have regressed since last year along with Losten IMO.

Nope, don't see him the proble at all. The jalens appear to have regressed because mingo, logan, minter, montgomery are gone. they have to cover longer.

The issue is, cooper was not recruiting well when he left. the two jalens are his. Raymond deserves a chance to recruit his guys and see what they got. so far, two of three best secondary guys are raymonds. (thomas and white)

Then you here the rumblings that r. jefferson is doing very well and is pushing the other safties for playing time. that's another raymond guy.

There wasn't any love lost when coop left. He didn't like to recuit and the talent level in the secondary was dropping. Coop was very fortunate and blessed to coach a group of louisiana studs that wanted to be tigers during his time here. Reid, T.M, Morris C., Taylor, etc.

Raymond deserves the chance to show what he can do with his guys. That is next year. If they don't show out next year, then i say go after raymond all you want. I have a feeling they will.

I think our biggest problem of all is the front 4. You have got to get pressure on the qb and also stop the run. We are not doing either. You can't give a qb that much time. Somebody will be open. Granted we do have problems across the board but i think it starts with the 4 down linemen.

talent is always more important than coaching. cooper had almost zero to do with pp7 being a superstar or with tm7 playmaking abilities. reid, simon, tm7 are all from la. and landed in cooper's lap.

chavis is a veteran dc and I would be shocked if he doesn't have his imprint all over db coaching.
