...and sit out an entire season. I don't see that happening, if he does not stay he will go second round and do d league for a few years.
If Johnny is fired can't be play right away somewhere?

Nobody could possibly know this soon after the season ended.
Quarterman is probably leaving.
We will struggle next year at times, but I do not think it will be as bad as people think if Tone stays.
Patterson and Epps being juniors will help a lot with that, as well as Mays can step in and play at the SEC level as he is extremely smooth and SEC ready.
Jenkins can and will step in from day one and start. Reath I am not as high on, but he will be better than Odo.
While I will get crucified for this Hayward will not be the type of impact player some of the people that follow really think.
Sampson will also make a much larger impact next season. Will be a lot of small ball.
Patterson
Blakeney
Jenkins
Victor
Reaf (Epps possibly and play small)

Right now he wouldn't be able to transfer without sitting out a year and I doubt he wants to be in school 2 more years. So it's either NBA d league now or work hard in the off season and be the primary scorer for us next season. Tough choice for him but I hope he stays.
This guy gets it...

Blake is staying. His game can get consistent and he might be able to become a top 15 pick. At the moment, he has too many flaws in his game. Big money difference between 1st and late 2nd round.

I was really disappointed with what Sampson brought/didn't bring to the table this year. Was much expected of him immediately?

Tiger Rant being Tiger Rant.
You have no fricking clue what you are talking about.

Should not have been. He was given a chance, but by the time Hornsby came back and he had not proven himself as a guy that had to play, there was not enough minutes to go around for another guy with his style of play, low man on the totem pole, which sounds bad given how the season went.
AAU rankings/ summer circuits, are what the rankings now only are. So while he had great potential, and did things that are extremely impressive in terms of rankings before coming to LSU, they do not necessarily translate to immediate year 1, major college basketball success.
Happens a lot, but he is a grinder, and before he is done at LSU will be a gamer.

You do not know at all how the NBA draft works
Without going into as much detail to make my point, he will never be a lottery pick, this was only year possible, its just the way the league works now. Now that is not to say the difference between a 1st round pick and a 2nd is not huge, they obviously are. But there is nothing he could do next year to launch himself into Top-15 category.

I highly highly doubt keeping jones is the only way to keep Tone. Another coach/staff could develop him for the NBA rather than for AAU ball

Buddy Hield says hello!

Thanks. His fluidity indicates there's something there, no doubt. Hopefully, he can give some quality minutes next year.

Patterson has moments (very few moments) but is not consistent and definitely not someone you want starting. Mays will have to be good.
Blakeney seemed to be shutdown by the opposing team more often than not. His game needs to improve a whole lot.
Jenkins needs to be as advertised
Victor must drastically improve not getting in foul trouble all the time.
Reaf needs to be as advertised
Epps is no help down low and we have no bench help down low...Sampson was a non-factor this season.
With the iffy point guard situation and zero depth at the low post, next season will be a disaster most likely.

He is very confident, but also is not your typical AAU chucker that is a superstar, he plays on defense and is a willing passer.

Again how old is Buddy Hield? So while I while I do not need to explain the huge differences in their situations, stand by what I said.

Hield is a Senior. You indicated that this year was the ONLY year Blakeney could have been a lottery pick because nobody understands the way the NBA works other than you. Buddy Hield begs to differ. That's all.

Patterson to casual fans is not flashy but that is his game. He would have been the best option at point guard this year, my biggest complaint.
Every player has flaws. Plays extremely hard, very active defender and long hands. A capable outside shooter, but most importantly his +/- is the biggest indicator, he does the little things.

I hope he stays. He and Victor would be a core you could build around provided we have any help coming at all!

Fair enough point on that
Only this year is what I am talking about.
