Yeah as we’ve moved into SEC play he definitely hasn’t been as effective.

Agreed, but idk who you move there.

He underperformed last year, and he’s underperforming this year. No improvement but we have no one better at this point in time.

Who had him highly rated?

To be fair before Hilliard showed back up Money was just about the ONLY quality SEC starter LSU seemed to have on staff (so we thought at least).

But his only quality starts were pre-SEC against Maine and other weak teams.

Yes. SEC play no bueno. Gives up too many HRs, doesn’t consistently go innings. Pen or Sunday starter.

If you don’t think that Money improved from last year, you’re trying not to see it.

ETA: let me be clear - hanging this one on Money is saying you did not watch the game

you’re lucky there isn’t a stat cast profile for Blake Money so we can prove to you how overrated he is as a starter.

I think he’d do well in the bullpen/mid relief

A) I’m not sure why you feel compelled to prove anything to me

B) when no one rating him highly as a starter he can’t be overrated

To call him overrated is tilting at windmills.

If you took my post as hanging this loss on him... you're confused. However... my post is about whether or not he's over rated as a starter. But since you seem to think I'm hanging this on him, let me be clear.... NO, but you can hang this on him; most of his starts lead to LSU being down runs early and OFTEN.

I definitely say Money is NOT a starter. He hasn’t been able to get out of the 2nd inning in the last two starts. He’s been shakey since the Texas loss. 13 HRs is too many to give up as a starter. He needs more development with spotting the FB. His location with it is the problem. With stiff competition, FB over the plate thigh high or higher = HR.

Simmer down, dude. Going into the season I don't think there were any posters over hyping money. After his first few games I think a lot of folk were seriously surprised and many bough stock thinking/hoping he could keep it up and become a legit solid starter for us. At that point we were looking for ANYONE to step up. Maybe for a few weeks time early in the season could you claim he was 'overrated' but that's about it.

If you take Money out of the rotation, who are you going to put in? Sunday is already a sort of Johnny Wholestaff (albeit perhaps not quite Mainieri style). I guess you could move him to Sunday but you still kind of end up with the same thing.

Fixed it for you. Blake Money didn't lose yesterday's game, not even close, but...he has been a major disappointment since the beginning of SEC play last year.
