It worked. Great to see us line up and physically smash their a-- in their own game too.
Nothing tricky just beat them.
Hope it carries forward with the defense

178 yds rushing on Fla. I'm totally cool with that.

Sure am

If UF wasn't going to commit more to stop the run then run right at them

When they did move more up, LSU threw

Solid coaching and gameplan

Folks here won't be satisfied unless its 100-0 with 500 yds rushing and 500 passing, way it is

Yes. The game plan respected Florida's DBs and challenged our Oline. If Florida had started scoring, we would have opened it up.

Could've had 2 more TDs. I'm ok with the plan.

Shocked!!!

Shocked there has been not bitching in this thread about the lack of a passing effort.

Shocked that LSU was able to run the ball against Florida even when they should have known the run was coming.

It sure looked to me like we probably could have scored a whole lot more if it was a poor showing by our D. BUT IT WASN'T!

I am sure there will be some threads about the lack of a passing game. But the truth is the lack of the passing game was NOT the result of Florida shutting it down. It was by choice. By design the way the game unfolded.

Yes, I think it was the right call. UF was running five CB's in the defensive backfield. They are very good at pass coverage and not too stout on the run game. Also a little overlooked point was that if LSU had thrown the ball and had some 3 or 6 and outs the Defense might have wilted in that heat today.

Kinda reminded me of the don't do anything to lose offense from last year but the receivers were dropping some passes that should have been caught to extend drives

With Fla's Dbs, JL80 bein gimpy and the absolute lack if run D and offense, it was a perfect gameplan. The game was never in doubt.

Great game, great game plan.
When they can't score on you, don't do anything stupid.
Ecstatic to see our defense developing.
I'm not worried about our offense; it will be there when we need it.

I thought the game plan was smart and it worked. Florida plays a ball control offense as shown by their time of possession. It's how they beat us last year when we couldn't run the ball.

This year we established the run above all else, passed when we needed to, and kept Florida from keeping our O off the field. Perfect way to beat a team with a great defense like UF.
