So let me get this straight. You're asking if I'm pissed that rich guys spend their money on what makes them happy instead of just donating it to the state?

No, I'm not pissed about that. I'm pissed that after the left has kept half the globe impoverished, and murdered about 50 million folks, we still have unselfconscious socialists like you running around.

Lol at all the people thinking they are smart for pointing out the difference between the LSU and TAF budgets.

I want Miles gone but it's still nauseating that we have that much money to throw around, but our budget situation is really poor and our endowment is a joke.

Problem is WE don't have that money. It's not ours, it's rich folks money and they can say "This money I will donate if it is used like this or else you don't get any of it."

Quite the opposite actually Ive been saying for over a year that coaches have a shelf life and Les is past his. Hes reached Mack/Fulmer/Richt territory and theres no coming back from it. I have been vocal that this has been handled poorly. Not that it should not have been handled.

As for the money trail, the boosters who are giving big money for football were only going to give that money for athletics.

Thats what this thread is about. I guess Im the only one who is a little disappointed by this.

Jesus.

People with money get things for being big athletic donors.

Like being able to pull the strings for firing a clown coach they've never liked for example.

It's the access and coddling they get and a sense that they're a part of the team is why it's an appealing donation (not to mention entertaining clients and making more money with this access)

In what way has this been handled poorly? You keep saying that with nothing at all to support it.

Does it bother anyone here that we now have a situation where a few wealthy boosters have control of the football program? I find that a bit troubling that some anonymous members of TAF have that much power, but that's just my opinion. Just wondering what the rest of you think about this.

any of it.

He knows exactly how it works. LSU has a pitiful endowment because all our donations go to TAF.

It appears this hasn't been handled great because of the stories leaking to the media and then Les having a pc today.

It could come out that the media just made shite up, but it looks like things got leaked. IMO things getting leaked ends up killing alot of deals that were supposedly done.

If Les doesn't retire its going to get ugly when we have to fire him.

No kidding, I am talking about the fanbase collectively. Your insinuation that I'm an entitled liberal couldn't be further from the truth. I just think it's disturbing that some of our most affluent alums care a lot more about football than academics, and that it says a lot about our priorities as a state. Maybe I'm a hypocrite, but the whole situation is a bit bizarre to me.

it comes down to cash....always does. They see a better return on football than academics, if you KNOW (and you dont) they dont donate to the academic side.

You are an ignorant dumbass and exposing yourself in this thread calling people socialist for looking for private donations rather than having to depend on state taxpayer funding.

It sounds to me like a few wealthy boosters are donating their own money to accomplish what the vast majority of fans want. Would you prefer that we wait four more years before changing coaches?
