You see, you're using 247's composite rankings as your dataset. Sure, you have had better recruiting classes but our talent is spread out among the whole team, you guys are top-heavy in defensive talent.

Not really. Our defense is better than our offense but it isn't apparent based purely on the ratings of the recruits coming out of high school. Both the offense and the defense are replete with 4 and 5 star recruits. Not saying yall's offense isn't potentially better but your argument about it being about recruiting rankings is complete bs.

The reality is this game is going to be settled between 3-6 points, one way or the other... if you think LSU is going to win that's fine, talent level is about equal so its a fair assumption.

I dont see either team scoring 3 touchdowns.

Late touchdown against a tired defense to win. 20-17

You were making some decent points until this. LSU has good depth at almost every defensive position now that Fulton is back.

Which isn't a lot of points, like he said.

Preseason rankings mean next to nothing.

It's true that there are unknowns about LSU this year, but don't pretend that aren't big unknowns about Miami as well.

Will LSU be facing the Miami that started 10-0 last year, or the one that most recently lost 3 in a row by double digit margins against teams that actually had a defense? We know LSU has one.

If the Tiger OLine can do a decent job on Sunday, Burrow will shred the Miami D and I could easily see a 34-17 LSU win.

If they don't, the game will be a hard fought slog, but I still see LSU prevailing.

Miami won’t score 24 points. So they’re wrong.

LSU could easily not score 32 with the 1st & 3rd weeks combined.

Well you have to have talent to win games and the more talent you have the more likely chance you'll win, so yeah I put a lot of stock into it.

Your coaching staff is subpar and that's where this game will be won.

That's true.

We know what beats an ed ogeron coached team and it's not talent. For this reason, lsu drops 5 games with 6 squarely on the table. Miami will be one of them.

Because it’s not.

LSU Ranks #6 in Team Talent, Miami Ranks #16...

That's "about equal" by most accounts

Would you say UCLA has “about equal” talent to LSU? I wouldn’t........this is relative because Miami is tied with UCLA at #16

I don't take much stock into our ranking, #8 is too high. But to think that your team led by an inexperienced QB is going to steamroll our talented side blows my mind.

Anyone saying steamroll is probably trolling you; however, I think it's fair to question how good the Miami D really is. They bullied a lot of bad teams early in the season but down the stretch they hardly looked like a defense that strikes fear into their opponent.
Over the Canes last 4 games of the 2017 season, the defense gave up an average of 379 yards. While nothing to be ashamed of in today's college game, it certainly isn't close to be considered elite. To put it in perspective, that type of defense would have been ranked #55 in the NCAA last year.

LSU is unproven on defense. While the fanbase is excited for its potential, several of the guys LSU fans are counting on to be dominant haven't done much at this level. It's fair to say both defenses have something to prove sunday night.

I would give the Canes offense the edge based on experience and talent at the RB position. There are too many unknowns on that side of the ball for LSU to be able to predict much of anything.

You've bought into all the offseason negativity. LSU is going to absolutely crush Miami.
