He gave up the one TD pass when he didn’t look for the ball but otherwise he really played well.
If we're talking about the one I think you are, that was an INSANE catch. The coverage was actually pretty good!

Spears was listed as a starter during pregame on the big screen.
I was surprised to see his count so low as well.

I seem to recall that before the bye week, BK said that they had enough snaps on the defensive backs to grade them out and were planning to put the best out on the field. So there you have who graded out best.

quote:You make a valid point (and I do like the physics reference), but Einstein might not be the best choice for this analogy. After all, Einstein went decades refusing to accept quantum mechanics long after everyone else. Refusing to accept that quantum mechanics was "good" would seem to be a good analogy for a coach refusing to play a better player. Just saying.
I have a similar aggravation with the work of Albert Einstein. I’m sure that E=Mc^3, but he idiotically insisted it was E=Mc^2.
Do you see how stupid that would be for me to really believe I know more than Einstein about relativity? It’s almost as stupid for you to keep insisting you know more than Kelly and his last two defensive staffs.

Burns permanently moving to the star might a move that works out really well.
This was easily the best game Burns has had as a Tiger. A major drop in mistakes. The star position is definitely the best spot for him.
I'm starting to get my hopes up for Gilbert. He is improving, had several great open field tackles (one I believe stopped them on a 3rd down run to the outside although that may have been Burns, I can't remember). Baker and the entire defensive staff are earning their paychecks. If this staff can stick together for several years, LSU will have an absolute juggernaut of a defense.

Spears busted the coverage on the first long completion. Saw him come out immediately

Woodland - 12
Did my eyes deceive me, but I swear he was in a lot they tested him and he came up with the W more often than not.
