Interesting interaction with Fournette the other day (Long)

I run the levees quite often with my dog, mainly during the week because weekends are busy. The other day, I went down river road and parked on one of those service accesses on the levee, not sure if that's totally legal but oh well. As I made my way to the top of the levee, I saw a car parked up on the top of the levee with what looked to be Leonard in the driver seat. I wasn't sure if it was him so I didn't approach the car, just went on my way along the top of the levee. I walked with my dog for around 45 minutes to an hour and it was roughly time for the sun to set, and as I got closer to my truck I saw the same car parked at the top of the levee except this time Leonard was outside the car leaning against the trunk of the car just looking out at the horizon.
I was curious as to what he was doing out there alone at the top of the levee. As I passed by him to get to where my truck was parked, I said in passing, "great game Leonard. Geaux tigers" (was referring to the A&M game). I didn't want to say much more, because he looked like he wanted to be alone. He gave me a big smile and said thank you and reached out and shook my hand. Nearly broke all my fingers, the kid has a vice grip.
I left it at that, no need to bother the kid. But thought I would drop this story for you guys. Lot's of negativity flying around here about the state of the program, and a lot of it is warranted. But, I think after seeing him on the levee clearly just trying to get away and have some quiet time it helped me realize that these are just people and kids at the end of the day. Like Mark Richt said, "It's about people, not rings". And I know rings are important around here, and they are to me too. But it was refreshing to see a different perspective to the situation. TIFWIW. Geaux Tigers, will be cheering on these guys no matter what even if I don't agree with our coach most of the time.

Now that is a cool story. I mean it. You handled it well.

He took your soul with that handshake. He'll use it to add .5 yds to his rushing average next season.
Be careful out there. You no longer have a soul. Leonard has it.

45 mins is plenty of time to self reflect.
You shoulda asked him what's on his mind and how's things going with the team
A) he might have wanted to vent
2) your post would have been much cooler with that info

If you are out on the levee trying to get away and think do you want strangers approaching you about your problems? doubt it man.

This is the first time I've said this sincerely, but cool story, bro.
I'd be exhausted if I were in his shoes over the past few months. I imagine he's had very little time to get away and reflect.

You should have kept this one in your hip pocket bro. The guy can't have event a moment of reflection alone on a levee without it being publicized on the Internet.

LSU has a great bunch of athletes that deserve to be treated better by their administration and fans.
Just support the team and support LSU.
Sometimes we get too caught up in the wins and losses.
I am a cowboy fan and even when Tom Landry went 1-15 he deserved better From Jeerry Jones.
I was a cowboy fan then and still am even though I don't like Jerry Jones at all.
I still support Les as LSU coach but like everyone I want our team to be more disciplined and make less mistakes. Have better plans of attack and not be so predictable with what play we are running.
Lets win our bowl game and finish recruiting strong if we can. And get ready for next year by working hard in the weight room.

I would not have been able to resist asking him if he was OK. You never know if a person just wants to talk to someone, anyone.
