re: Interesting how lenient we are with a new OC

Now saying that, I don't blame Canada. We manhandled them so much why the heck would you change?
But it's the truth that the Les offense would have produced the same results
The main point of the original post though was why give the new coaches a break for the red zone performance when the old coaches got torched for it. And the reason is because it happened all the time, year after year, under the old regime. And this was only the very first game! So it's not the same.

I said it earlier and I'll say it again, the people complaining about the offense were the same people criticizing Aranda and the defense after Wisconsin last year.

If you don't think we did anything different then you are showing how little you know about football. Dumbass

We ran the ball 76% of the time
We were successful because we manhandled them off the ball. We didn't beat them with misdeorediton or phenomenal playcalling
There was nothing materially different in our success from last night or a les miles offense
However, that shouldn't make anyone defensive of Canada. We dominated. All I can ask for

Just like when his offense out gained Jacksoneville state by 3 yards and when he held on to beat Syracuse by 10. Or how about when he had to rally to beat Troy? How many 475 yard games did Miles offense produce? How many times did his QB go 15 for 17 against division 2 schools much less a BYU? Have you ever watched LSU football before? If you're going to get wasted during games that's fine but don't comment on things you have no clue about or can't recall because of inebriation.

So you are saying we never manhandled the frick out of weak teams between the tackles?
Auburn 2015 you dolt and a thousand others under les

Do you think the score would have been 27-0 under the former coach?
I do.
But, that doesn't have anything to do with how well Canada did or didn't do.
Our ability to convert 3rd down plays was awesome. Our ability to mix in the pass was awesome. The QB looked poised and coached to get the ball out on time. And, our routes were designed to attack the defense.
But, yeah, Last year's team with Miles rolls BYU too.

I also don't know why people are so defensive
Canada ran a conservative power offense last night because it worked
His whole philosophy is to be flexible and run the offensive that the defense gives you. Well, last night the defense was weak and played deep safeties so they gave us the power run game, so we ran it

Wow you're seriously a moron. BYU was a top 10 run defense nationally last season when's the last time Leslie ran it up on a top 10 run defense? And if you didn't recognize that the shifts and motions directly affected plays last night you're simply an idiot who knows zero about football. We doubled up the spread wanna take a guess what your heroes record vs the spread was at LSU? I'll give you a hint he was bottom 3rd in the SEC for his career and for the better part of it was only ahead of Vandy vs the spread. You're a clueless child who can't see past his hate for the the new regime. You've ripped them all summer and now that you're proven wrong for a game youre making backhanded comments.

This quote from The Advocate is not going to make some people very happy.

I wanted les gone more than anyone
I am simply saying he ran power smash mouth football last night. We beat them with power, not by outshcemimg them. and who cares. Canadas job is to dominate. and he did that

So you're saying we never ran any misdirection? We never ran any pass plays that were more efficient than what Cam/Les ran the last couple of years?

Posted on 9/3/17 at 7:28 pm to lsupride87
That's not what you're saying but nice crawfish attempt.
Posted on 9/3/17 at 7:28 pm to DBU
Sure we ran a few misdirection plays. And so did les
And yes Etling had an efficient game.

You think what we ran last night in terms of misdirection is the same as what Les ran?

Talk about just making shite up. Good lord.

You're saying nothing was different that Les would've done the same and there's not a shred of data to support either statement. "We ran a couple misdirection plays" lmfao now I get why you're spouting this nonsense, you really have no clue.

Stick to the OP; the red zone offense last night was terrible. It needs to be significantly better, or we have a huge problem.
There is truth to this, but it's not really reasonable to be alarmed at this point.
And, your post comes off as bitching rather than being logical and reasonable.
Expecting a first year OC (who took over a team that had no idea about true passing concepts) to have every line crossed and i dotted in game 1 is kind of ridiculous. Ignoring the improvements that said first year OC has apparently been able to accomplish in game 1 and instead criticizing what's left to be done is retarded.
