Yes. If a team drafts a player in the first ten rounds and they don’t sign then they lose access to that slot money. Professional teams aren’t in the market of losing money.
If a player is drafted in the first 10 rounds then he’s already agreed to terms before the team picked him.

I mean Herring and Anderson are both home grown but I also don't see HS pitchers as 100% necessary if he can build the staff through proven portal guys every year. I would prefer that we just supplement our HS ranks with portal guys but if he is bringing in proven guys that can do it, whats the harm?
