And most of the transfers he brought with him. They are a one year wonder

Why can they get the transfers we can’t?

We don’t have a talent issue, we have a coaching/leadership issue.

Watching IU’s offense and they run a spread but Rourke doesn’t run around much. But their scheme is night and day from ours. They utilize motion on just about every play and there is misdirection on every play. Very well coached as well. Linemen get their blocks and stay on their blocks.

what will you say next year when they are 5-5?

at some point you all will stop trying to model success based on a 1yr sample sizes

you all did this with Florida St last year. lmao.

nothing in life built like this is proven to be sustainable

Also worth noting that judging a team based on recruiting rankings is pointless without context.

I've had this argument with a coworker of mine about the Bama game and I told him that LSU coaches got their asses handed to them ( the players too ) but mostly the coaches. My coworker insists it's just because of lack of talent and I asked why did Vandy beat Bama then? Game planning, mental toughness and discipline to the system and game plan did it for Vandy, not talent. There were plays that Bama scored on or got huge gains in the LSU game that would have had to have been timed exactly right by not one but 2 guys to shoot gaps to stop the play, Bama had the numbers in the offense's favor. You're getting out schemed, along with formations, play calls and play design that gives you glaring advantages.

Nobody talking, Supes, about how almost all of those guys came with Cignetti, and are like 25-years-old in their 5th-7th years in college? A lot easier getting them to play well together than piecemealing 4-5 guys per unit from different schools who’ve never played together before.

I think Cignetti’s a really good coach, and I hope they win today. And with the extension they gave him, they may actually have some legit buy-in by their boosters and fan base. But they’re gonna take a huge dip next year. Even if they land a nice class and some guys out of the portal, running out 18-20 year olds instead of 23-25 year olds is gonna be a huge difference, especially in a physical conference like the Big 10. And they couldn’t possibly catch a better break with an easier schedule.

They may figure out a way to be competitive moving forward. For Indiana anyway. But make no mistake, this year is a special 1-off. Yet, we have retards—maybe even the OP—who literally suggest we take this 10-game sample size, fire BK and eat his $70 million buyout, and hire 63-year-old Cignetti. Oh, we’d have to pay him and his staff too. And whatever his buy out is to Indiana after they gave him that huge extension. They ain’t letting him walk for free. After 20 years on here, it’s still wild to me how stupid a large portion of our fans are, and are just incapable of any sort of reasonable, rational, objective thinking.

All that said, go Hoosiers today.

If LSU was 10-0, fans wouldn’t care where the players came from.

I did no such thing. I was pleased with where the team was in their second season under Kelly.

He told us to evaluate him in year three.

Here we are.

To have consistency, you need more than that.

You need talent and coaching. You may have a good year here and there but the big dogs will eat every year.

Again, people like you are incapable of seeing the big picture. Hell, you can’t even see into next year? Is it not just completely obvious to you that all those guys came with Cignetti, and this is literally a 1-time thing that can’t be reproduced until they bring in their next coach, whenever that would be?

And that they’re all 23-25 years old? Of course LSU fans would be excited if we were 10-0. But those of us who aren’t buttfricking retatded would be concerned for the future, because this is not sustainable. Not that they can’t have a pretty good program, but they can’t do it like this. Literally.

If it has us top 10? Why wouldn’t you?? You old timers would rather have 8-4 teams doing it the “right way”
