Any list of this sort has to include Amp Hill.

Completely unfair to say that any player still active is one of the biggest busts in LSU history. Say Shep has a blowout year in 2012. As a whole his career wouldn't have lived up to the 5* status, but it would take him out of the biggest bust conversation.

If Shep never plays another down for LSU, he still isn't a bust. He has contributed every year, even his true freshman year. Underachieved? Sure. Bust? Far from it.
A bust is a player whom never sees the field.

I think a lot of you are confusing underachieving and bust. Al Woods and Shep underachieved, they atleats played and contributed. Davenport hasn't even played.

I remember watching the under armor all-american game a few years ago and we had 2 te's, where are they?

Shep ls playing a different position. Let me hire you as a pizza delivery guy then ask you to build a few bridges. How are you going to do? He will have a huge season. He is a great player!

To change from qb to receiver at this level? With the quality of qb s we have had ? Shep bleeds Lsu and has big play ability and speed and is the most exciting guy on the field. I still can't believe he has never thrown a pass at Lsu. shite as bad as jj was, you can't tell me shep couldnt have beat him out. Jj couldn't read a defense after 4 years. I think shep will have a monster season and be a 1 st to 3rd rounder!

I don't know about bust, but one recruit who I was super excited about but never met expectations was Wade Richey

Yep. Best high school PK I ever saw.

Adam McConathy

This.

Don't remember if he was a 5-star but he was a beast LB and Louisiana's Mr. Football at West Monroe then completely fizzled in college (LSU then Texas, then La Tech

Was a solid starter for LSU.

Sadly, he played on some shitty teams.

RP. Anyone who comes in with the high expectations a 5* player has and gets kicked off the team has less respect from me than someone who just doesn't pan out.

Some people think they can change meanings of words to suit them apparently.

RP was by no definition a bust. You can not have respect for him for his actions, but that doesn't mean every negative label that comes to mind can be applied to him.

Conversely, a highly touted recruit that doesn't see the field from being outcompeted for the spot isn't immune from the term "bust " just because they weren't kicked off the tea

Anyone calling RS, RP, or Loston a bust has no credible perspective.

Can't really blame offensive recruits under miles. Miles sucks at developing offensive players. Name one offensive player that miles has recruited that has been taken in first round.

Xavier Carter in the rivals era and its really not close. Every other player I've seen in this thread at least contributed in some way. Remember, X-Man was supposed to be better than Early Doucet.

Instead he had like one (rushing) TD in his entire career, kneeled on the one yard line, and then gave up football.

McConathy? Did he ever see the field at LSU?

Atleast up until page 3 or so. I was referring to the players that I kept seeing such as Loston, Shep, Al Woods, etc.

Carter was def a bust.

They only gave him 5 stars because he could run so fast the defenders might as well been standing still. (exaggerating)

Shep! I am still pulling for him but this is his last chance.
