re: In retrospect this team probably overachieved

LSU had the 7th rated roster, talent wise, coming into the season. They finished 10th.
That's the opposite of overachieving with "this roster".
Based on what measure? Is age & class & experience taken into affect?

with this schedule
This scheduled ended up being not nearly as hard as anticipated. Not to mention that every team plays a hard schedule every now and then.

Going 9-3 when I predicted them to go 8-4 is hardly over achieving
and no Cole Tracy would not have been that good

Look I like this team, and they overcame some adversity, but 9-3 is 9-3. You are what your record says you are. Not a bad season per se but 9-3 is not overachieving at LSU.
Yes it is. Considering the predictions for this team were a minimum of 4-6 losses. Some even said 7. And especially considering our injuries, we overachieved. That's no excuse for our horrible offensive play, but yes, we overachieved. We had a very hard schedule.
Now next years schedule, and our starters, i think we should end up 10-2 at a minimum.

Dave do you have our SOS ranking handy?

Based on the only measure that puts such a ranking together. The 247 Sports composite talent ranking that they put out each season.
You're more than welcome to go through rosters and dispute it Lester. Be our guest.

the fact that we have only like 3 Srs graduating & a small handful draft eligible tells me the power of this current roster will be much more apparent next year. Context matters as usual

You still touting the wins over 7-5 Miami and 7-5 Auburn?

Dave, do you have our SOS ranking handy?
Let’s not even focus on those games. What does the body of work say?

So long as we don't have any head scratching early declarations the roster should be very strong and experienced next year

You're right. Hardly any juniors or seniors contributed this season.

What if I told you that LSU was not expected to beat those teams based on preseason projections and that clinging to preseason projections in the face of...you know...ACTUAL GAME RESULTS, may be the most asinine thing youve posted?

I think his point was that most were juniors and of those only a handful are expected to declare for the draft

Every person listed there is draft eligible, which was his criteria. I'll ask again, does any of this somehow make 247's ranking of LSU's roster incorrect? I haven't seen a single valid point to suggest that it is. Lester Earl's standard "nu-uh" response not withstanding, obviously.
If you have tangible proof that LSU didn't have the 7th most talented roster in college football this year, let's see it.

You are playing semantics, he said expected to win so you say HAHA we were underdogs so not “expected” to win! Winning at Auburn is usually tough, I don’t want to belittle it, frankly i thought going in the year we had a better chance to beat UGA because it was at home but it turns out Auburn wasn’t very good so while at the time LSU wasn’t “expected” to win in retrospect we should have.
Posted on 11/29/18 at 10:40 am to H-Town Tiger
I think LSU’s strength of schedule speaks for itself.
No real reason to get into semantics. If you don’t want to acknowledge LSU went into those games as underdogs not expected to win, that is fine.

Why’d you leave off all the other back ups?

yet you do not want to acknowledge Miami was 8th at the time.
Miami has not been ranked in a single CFP committee ranking.
you do not want to acknowledge that Auburn was also top 10 at the time, in week 3, because of preseason rankings.
6-3 Auburn was ranked 24th in the second CFP committee rankings. they would fall out the following week and have not returned to the rankings.
southeastern, ole miss, arkansas, rice all finished with losing records.
Mississippi State and UGA are "who we thought they were". I would be touting those victories moreso than Miami and Auburn.
the real surprise/s is/are UF and aTm both starting the season unranked. Again, I would be touting those losses as "quality" losses if I were trying to make an argument about the schedule.

I know what you said. In no way is the number of juniors that I listed a "small handful".
