IN MY OPINION, this is not an NIT caliber team...

I try to be as positive as I can but I see no qualities that make this club worthy of consideration for post season. Good basketball teams at the very least play with some level of consistency. I’ll give them credit for playing hard and some quality wins but typically you should see improvement from game to game. They seem to do the opposite. Not to mention that on just about every level, they lack basic fundamentals.

OBJECTIVELY, they are a NIT team right now. Now you can argue that SUBJECTIVELY you don't think they are, but by many metrics they are in (currently) as a 3-4 seed. That of course can change over the last 3 weeks

You do realize this team has 6 wins vs. top 50 RPI teams right? Unless they tank the rest of the season (which as you said they're too inconsistent to do), they're in the NIT

We have a great NIT resume IMO. Just can’t lose out or something crazy like that.

The NIT isn't for good basketball teams, it's for mediocre teams. Good basketball teams go to the NCAA tournament. Bad basketball teams stay home. LSU is not a bad basketball team. Last years team that won just 2 SEC games was a bad basketball team. Consistency is sometimes the defining factor between a good team and a mediocre team. You won't find many mediocre teams that will win 5 or 6 games against teams ranked in the top 50 of the RPI. Which LSU has done this season. That alone on their resume makes them an attractive team for post season play.

If they go 2-3 I'd be pretty confident they'd be in the NIT, and I think there are two wins on the schedule so say 85% confident

Hey, we actually gave them a better game than Tennessee did and SEC analysts were practically blowing the Vols going into that game.
What Bama can bring with their length and athleticism that very few teams can, makes quite a few teams look "inconsistent". Hall being back even moreso.
