Yes the OL has been very VERY bad

But even when he has had time he hasn't been very good.

He's not the main problem, but yes he's part of it.

I hope he balls out the last few games, but I think they need to let MVB get a chance to audition for 2026.

There are actually people that think he’s on 40% and out there gritting it out for lsu lol

Nobody thinks the latter… was trying to get drafted.

Calling BS seems like a reasonable enough take until you see him throw a football. I am not the biggest Nuss fan, but there’s also no doubt 100% something going on with the arm strength… appears to be a very real nagging injury IMHO.

Doesn’t excuse bonehead decisions. Doesn’t make him any faster or slower. Doesn’t affect his pocket feel & doesn’t excuse continuing to try and play through it.

But I’m still not gonna pretend there isn’t something obviously physical going on with him. No one just loses that much velo over one summer.

Just look at Drake Maye. His college stats were just so-so, and considering his pedigree and expectations, he didn't have a successful college career. Of course, the teams he was on at North Carolina were mediocre at best. It's obvious that the pro scouts took all the problems with the N.C. program into consideration, and he was picked third overall by the Pats. After a predictably rocky rookie season, he has really come on this year.

Anyone that thinks Nuss is the biggest or even close to one of the biggest problems on this team is beyond retarded

He's not, but if the offensive line is so bad he is already hurt and getting destroyed then put someone else in that can escape and make more plays. Thanks.

Nuss threw for over 4000 yards and completed 65% of his passes last year. Last year he had Campbell, Jones, Frazier and Dellinger all studs on the OL. This year his OL is one of the worst Offensive Lines in the whole country. And you idiots blame Nuss for his poor performance this year. Any person who understands football knows that it all begins upfront. And yet you idiots continue to blame Nuss when it is 100% the OL’s fault. They simply can’t block and protect Nuss.

Nuss wasn’t very good last year either.

ETA: everyone throws around his stats but at no point last year when watching him did you think he was a great college QB despite the stats. Even “good” was a stretch.

The NFL execs will take this into consideration regarding the draft:

God bless anyone NFL team that wants him. He does nothing above average

He needs to take his dads route and coach.

Nuss has been 100% playing hurt? Have you ever had a core muscle injury? It hurts to do normal everyday things, just think how it feels when he tries to contort his body to put something on a throw. Thats why he’s thrown so many lame duck throws this year. He’s been all using just his arm on his passes all year and not using his lower body to put more zip on the ball. I wish him the best but if he’s as hurt as he looks from his play then he just needs to sit and ket Van Buren play a week or two or maybe all year.

Even more reason to get rid of a coach playing a hurt QB or letting the QB decide to play for selfish reasons.

And it backfired on both.

You’re retarded bro. Nuss has regressed majorly in every metric and the eye test. He inspires no confidence within his teammates or fan base

He was either unprepared mentally this year or just sucked.

He was either hurt or too scared to run the ball.

These dichotomies are unstable.

Over and over again if you watch the film breakdowns you can cherry-pick plays here-n-there where Nuss is at fault. But there are far more instances of Nuss getting it right only to be defeated by poor blocking fundamentals or wrong routes.

Here's one example from Vandy. Play call was good. Nuss read it perfectly, But the RT blocked the wrong man and the play was doomed.

Pass Play vs Vandy

Maybe ND players are smarter than LSU players.

Isn't there a GPA requirement in South Bend?

No excuse for running the wrong route unless he can't remember the play book.

He like led the league (if not the nation) in completion % under pressure. His 4th yr stats were better than Joe's or Jayden's.

A bitter pill for some to swallow but Nuss was very good last year and the least of problems on O this year.

Sacrificing the redshirt would have done wonders for his career. I know Hindsight.

I can't understand how anyone in his ear told him to stay for his SR year, with no returning starters on the O-line.

I say we wait and see if the scheme changes and he benefits from it. I know he's only got two weeks, but I'd love to see how much of his demise is from Sloans dumbass putting too much on him and making him tense.

OP is 100% correct. Nuss is a warrior with as talented an arm as anyone. He has been and he'll probably remains hurt.

The low performance is mostly injury, followed by nonexistent OL blocking, and then coaching to trot him out there and call shite plays.

It is a tragic end of a career for the poor guy. I genuinely wish him the best. He deserves it.

If he has been hurt all year, he should have been rested against SELA and La Tech. And MVB should have gotten snaps against OM to change things up

His 12 INTs were the highest in league and his passer rating was 10th. He lit it up against some bad teams but he was atrocious in 3 of the 4 losses.
