Last year teams scored so fast our offense had MANY opportunities and yes OL was better. He didn't forget how to play football but his velocity up till now has forgotten .

You don’t accidentally throw for 4,500 yards. Last year’s line with NFL linemen underperformed because of coaching/scheme or lack thereof. This year’s less talented and less experienced line, unsurprisingly, is underperforming for the same reasons. Nuss was undoubtedly hurt earlier in the season. Even considering the pile of shite around him Nuss has made bad decisions and underperformed.

I think when healthy with a good system around him he might be OK. Someone will draft him and he might get a chance. We’ll see.

Our offense was a grab-bag of plays. No strategy, no sequencing, just a plays pulled from a hat with no protection and no running. He never had a chance this year.

I feel bad for him.

This is it in a nutshell.

Obviously injured. I think a lot of the contempt for him is just misdirected frustration with Kelly for continuing to put him in that position.

That said, he has not had a great attitude or carried himself well. Which is somewhat understandable but still, it’s been bad. Nobody is forcing you to go out there and play hurt.

People say competitors wanna be out there.

Meh. Competitors have pride. And if you have any pride at all… you don’t want to be consistently putting yourself on tape & competing on big stages at like 40% of your actual ability.

He was a lazy QB that depended on raw talent instead of perfecting his talent like his predecessors.

Glad he will be gone but don’t have any ill will against the dude.

When you're injured it affects velocity.

Nuss got engaged before the most important football year of his life. Didn’t put in extra work with a ton of new receivers that needed to get their timing down with him. Didn’t use the all too infamous VR that made JD5. Came into the season out of shape and bloated.

On the other hand, Burrow and JD5 worked their asses off coming into the season in tremendous shape. Spent umpteen hours on their own time and own dime working with their receivers.

Nuss may not have had an ideal football situation this year, but the guy absolutely made some of the most bone headed decisions for his football future that I’ve seen in a while. I wish him well, but won’t miss him. And this #18 and #7 shite needs to be put to bed. It’s damn near the Madden cover curse.

I'm here telling you right now that he was one of the biggest problems.

I’m just shocked at how bad his feet are, he is slow. Even average athletes move better, zero escapability.

Nuss is weak. If he’d have worked as hard as Joe Burrow did between seasons we would be having different discussions about him. But holding the ball 5 seconds and waiting on the receivers to get to their positions cannot be excused. He was soft and did not put in the work to win. But no one on this team apparently put any work in.
Brian Kelly ruined this program!

Nuss is screwed. If his health is the reason for those poor passes, take a seat and heal yourself

The backup QB has been better than the starter on this board the entire time I’ve been here

nuss has some serious, "do you know who my dad is " energy.

He seemed to thrive in the off season.

Pre season accolades, Heisman shortlist , top draft pick.

But he didnt want to put in the work for it when it came time

Nuss threw for over 4000 yards and completed 65% of his passes last year. Last year he had Campbell, Jones, Frazier and Dellinger all studs on the OL. This year his OL is one of the worst Offensive Lines in the whole country. And you idiots blame Nuss for his poor performance this year. Any person who understands football knows that it all begins upfront. And yet you idiots continue to blame Nuss when it is 100% the OL’s fault. They simply can’t block and protect Nuss.

All that typing just for me to still want MVB to take over going forward. I dont care who it was against, the one drive MVB was in was more productive than just about any drive this year with Nuss.

I don't care who the coach is. Nussmeier waved off BK when he was trying to talk to him (or yell).

Disrespect your coach, you deserve to be benched.

Wonder what Doug Nuss would say about it.

NFL execs have 7 chances through the draft to make there teams better.

Nussmeir does nothing well. A 5th year senior that has zero idea what he sees pre snap and gets confused and checks in to the wrong play or calls a timeout. Once the ball is snapped it gets worse and he panics and throws in to double or triple coverage, or stands there waiting to be sacked. If they roll him out it's going to be incomplete or a pick.

He is so un athletic he can't play under center, the process of taking the snap and turning around is beyond his ability.

There's more but you get the idea. So what GM with 7 chances to make his team better is taking this guy?
