on the horizon?

LSU was a 5 to 6 point favorite. The team was running out of gas. A mediocre to bad Arkansas team took LSU to the final 30 seconds of the game nearly getting in FG range for the win.

They were a 2 point favorite by game time. I thought it'd be close, but it was clear the team was wearing down faster and faster every week.

I don't think many people foresaw that we would get blown out.

Not this year.

Les has this group of guys so motivated and so focused that it would take an out of this world game from Georgia to beat them.

JMO.

I think we win by at least 17 points.

Maybe not blown out, but the team was banged up and physically exhausted. The outcome was really no surprise, based on what I was told by a friend who was a strength coach at another school who had talked with Moffit a few days before the game.

that year was a big mess the hurricane and having to fly to Arizona. that was a team that was championship worthy. and we had to fight back from defeat a couple of time also. we should have been undefeated if it wasn't for UT coming back in the end and winning in overtime.

Are you seriously trying to compare this team to that one?

Yup, and then Georgia went out and lost a virtual home game to WVU (Sugar Bowl was in ATL that year) and LSU crushed the life out of Miami in the Chick-FilA.

:raiseshand:

we played what 10 straight games that year? We were emotionally and physically exhausted. We were a better team then. We just were beat down from the season and emotional toll of what all happened.

I had a bad feeling going in to the game...and when Russell went down, my feeling came true.

I made several trips to the beer stand in that second half.

LSU played that season 10 games in a row due to hurricane no bye week

If they were running out of gas, the Ole Miss and Ark games would've been much closer.

LSU had a lot more close games that year as well not to mention less depth
