I know we've heard it in the past but this year feels different. We bring back a confident, experienced leader at quarterback, who seemed like he was coming into his own at season's end. There is new blood in the offensive braintrust and Orgeron sounds like he is converted and ready to move forward with expansive changes. The WR is deep and more experienced.
The defense sounds confident that they can replace White and Williams. K'Lavon is back, there are rave peer reviews of Stingley.

I doubt we'll see too much of the revised offense on display at the spring game but at least we have something to fuel encouragement.

Just have to hope the O line issues are solved and that Emery is the real deal.

Yeah...no.

I'm not falling for this for the 10th year in a row.

No, this is the year that Russell Shepard finally throws a pass.

This is so much bigger than most are giving credit for. We haven't had this in a long time. I think Joe's demeanor and swag is going to affect this team in a big way.

I love LSU football but have never cared as little about spring football as I do this year

Last time we had this was Mettenberger 2013 and he was great that year. I don’t expect this offense to be that good but I expect this defense to be way better than that defense was. They are going to do something special this year I believe.

I think we learn what the ceiling is for the Ed Orgeron era at LSU with this team.

As much as I hate the “I hope I’m wrong, but...” crowd, this is the one time I’ll use it.

I won’t trust the decade long “new offense” we here about every spring until I see it in aug/sept.

We finally have an quality established QB going into year 2. There is a potential similar jump to Mett’s 2012 to 2013 progression.

How many years have we heard this and we still come out with the same old shite when the season starts?

I think it has more to do with the “new offense”.

Admittingly , we are in much better shape at QB that we’ve only seen once (met) since, what, Matt Flynn?

Thank goodness he is no longer playing.

To those laughing at the idea that Orgeron is evolving, I would say that he's not stupid regardless of the "yaw yaw" narrative. Maybe he has evolved in ways that Miles didn't. He knows that the game has changed and that he can't be successful without a more effective offense. He knows he can't recruit skill players to play in leather helmet football.
Give it a chance. I was not optimistic at all last year but I am this year. Sixteen returning starters plus new talent and a dynamic young coach.
