Yet, you can’t explain why.

What do you want me to say????? Sure they looked great against UGA but many times have looked lost and confused. I will say this.... They can rebound on both ends. They could make a magical run, but without a true point guard it will be tough.

Smart is a great PG.

You serious???? I would much rather the ball in Mays hands when it matters. Smart is a decent player but if somehow we had Waters on this team, Mays would be even better.

Why can't some of y'all understand that we aren't tied for number 2 this season? We are number three behind auburn bc they beat us head up. Number three is still good especially with the amount of close games we lost when we should have won. It is just too much like ole miss to claim being second when we aren't. That's why we are the third seeded team in the tournament and Auburn is second. It's simple.

I'm not saying we are national title material this year or next, but having a "true PG" isn't a prerequisite for winning a NC.

North Carolina won a NC in 2017 with Joel Berry who had just 3.6 assists per game.

You dont have to have some dedicated high assist "true PG" to win a national title. Just like it's a misnomer you have to have some "true bigs/centers" (Villanova 2 years ago) to win it all either.

There's not any real perfect formula to win a national title personnel wise. There's some basics you see in just about every team that wins it all (very good guard play for starters), but you can pick apart a lot of NC teams and find out some didn't really have any true bigs, some didn't have some high assist PG, etc...

All the analytics say it is near an elite offense. It is flawed and reaches those results in an unorthodox way but the results are still the results.

Offense efficiency rating stats >>>> peejs “eye test”

Smart would be much more effect as a 2, but hes still a pretty good, not great pg.

Yet, we are still a top 5 team in offensive efficiency without a pg or a 3 point shooter, that is the sign of a great offense.

Smart led the SEC in assist/TO ratio. Yes. He's a really good PG. Just because it doesn't look like Tremont Waters doesn't mean it isn't good.

frick this isn't hard. There are no tiebreakers for season standings. That's why there are co-champions for the regular season and then those two teams are seeded 1 and 2 via tiebreaker for the tournament. Regardless of the seeding for the tournament, those teams are still tied for first place in the season standings. LSU and Auburn finished tied for second in the standings according to the SEC. You can keep arguing these facts, but you're 100% wrong.

They are 5th in the country in PPG; top 20 in both FG% and FT%. Plus, the 4th in the nation in efficiency (.2 % points behind 3rd place). That's not because they had one really good game vs. UGA. That's 31 games of production. If that is "lost and confused" I'll take it!

The average offensive efficiency rating of the national champion over the last 5 years is "4"...which is where LSU currently sits. Sure it would be nice to see them hit 3's on a more consistent basis, but offense has NEVER been the problem under Wade.

I realize it’s cherry picking to a degree, but in the last 9 games of conference play, LSU is shooting 37% from 3.

It all depends on what level you want to be. Look at how FLA destroyed LSU last week.this is not a championship type team.

You’re moving the goalposts now. First you said championship caliber offense. Now you’re saying team. Those are two very different arguments.

Whoa. The defense IS horrible. The offense is just not as good as people want to believe. The SEC is garbage.
