If 7-5 was the result of a basically complete rebuilding year, you'd really be upset by that?

In all honesty, I would be surprised if LSU had that record at the conclusion of the season. Russ Mitchell of CFNews predicts 0-8 SEC. Which of course would make the record 4-8. Completely unacceptable if that were to happen.

11/5 happened right before it too. And so did the win over Bama in 2010.

being completely dominated & embarrassed like few teams have before in the national championship game overshadows a couple of big regular season wins.

Well he's certainly never been wrong about anything. May as well stop playing.

Most of the negas have been around for several years. They're not an especially young bunch. And how would you know? Didn't you just register?

As I've said on here several times, I've read this board for years....signed up a few years ago, but never completed the sign up process. I know the names well of all the sorry posters, as well as the good ones....the knee-jerk (cpl325 at the top) posters, as well as the more rational.

Yes, there are a lot of negas that have been here, but there is an entirely new breed right now as well. I remember a poster (Nuts4LSU) was on here back then....hundreds of thousands of posts....constantly bashing miles, personally guaranteeing Miles would never beat Saban or win the SEC again. There were many like him.

Did we or did we not beat Saban since 2008?

Does it because 1/9 happened.

At the time that the "Miles will never beat Saban" mantra was popular, Miles was 1-2 against him and both losses had been very close. Then we won in 2010 and 2011, putting Miles up 3-2 (again, very close games).

Since November of 2011, Bama's 3-0 and have outscored us 80-34. I've read several Bama fans/commentators remark that Saban designs his teams pretty much to exploit LSU's weaknesses.

It's conceivable that Miles' victories over Saban will be pretty few and far between going forward. (once every three years perhaps).

One would think you would have learned your lesson the first time around....I guess history repeats itself.....

I think he does it THIS year....but then it will be because Bama and their string of #1 recruiting classes was having a bad year....haha

no, but I can see the present...

it is not a totally rebuilding year .. at least not until our coaches decided to dismantle the OL, putting more pressure on the QBs and the DL.

No one is saying that, but look at the schedule that lies ahead. Don't have the defense or offense for A&M. Don't have the offense for Ole Miss. Bama will steam roll LSU. Arkansas will gain 300+ on this defense on the ground. Probably easily more. Best chance is this weekend at Florida because their offense is worse than LSU's, and Kentucky

LSU will bounce back.

Muschamp said it. Losing that much to the NFL will hurt any team. We all have our frustrations with the offense, but just remember how effective last year was with experienced players.

The DL was under pressure from day one because of inexperience. Pretty much the definition of rebuilding.

Well frick, like I said, let's just pack it up. No reason to think the team will play any better with experience. None.

NEWSFLASH !

the DL is ONLY one part of our problem.

the OL was to be one of the best in the country until Grimes decide to go zone blocking...
now the QBs are running for their lives, the D has to be on the field longer...

so yes, IT WAS NOT a TOTALLY rebuilding year..not until the coaches made it so.

Hopefully LSU gets better as the year progresses and gives us some off-season hope.

Last year was the first regular season game that got away from LSU...and hell that was close at halftime (can't remember the exact score, LSU may have been tied or leading). ALL of the other regular season games have been close. LSU goes into Alabama in 2011 and beats arguably the greatest Alabama team ever......but that didn't matter right....only one that mattered was 1/9. LSU follows back up in 2012, a year when Bama wins the NC again, with a great game in Tiger Stadium where they lost in the last second. Even 2008 and 2009 were very close games.....You have absolutely no idea what will happen in the future....none whatsoever.....other than to toot your saban horn.

Just for arguments sake, what if that comes to fruition? Dropping all 8 SEC games. Does your opinion change of the way Miles has coached this team? Or does the exodus of players to the NFL provide an adequate excuse for being the SEC bottom dweller?
