Just for arguments sake, what if that comes to fruition? Dropping all 8 SEC games. Does your opinion change of the way Miles has coached this team? Or does the exodus of players to the NFL provide an adequate excuse for being the SEC bottom dweller?

I'll answer that...it depends. If LSU is very competitive in most games, and is losing because of freshmen mistakes, and is clearly getting better rolling into next year....then no....if the team quits, and gets blown out routinely......I think Miles is done. Since we are just assuming for arguments sake. However, as I have said, I think LSU rebounds nicely....7 to 8 wins.

depends entirely on how we lose

if we are able to see some improvements as the year goes on, no opinion change for me

if every game looks like Auburn, then yeah, something is wrong

Last year was the first regular season game that got away from LSU...and hell that was close at halftime (can't remember the exact score, LSU may have been tied or leading)

Yeah, in Crewe's article on Miles he made the mistake of saying this game wasn't competitive past the 1st quarter.

They got the fake punt on 4th down midway through the 3rd quarter, or else we would have been getting the ball back with the game tied. So he was way off there.

I seriously doubt it.

A historically good offense for Bama under Saban. I believe averaging 100 yards more per game than his best offense year with a 3rd ranked defense? You going on feeling there?

I understand a "down" year, but we are beyond that.
We have had supposedly some great recruiting classes and should be reloading, not rebuilding ...understanding that the "caliber of player will fall some" and grow w experience.

but NAME on phase of the game that you would say it up to LSU standards ? (except some special teams)

So why can't we be upset with the way this team is performing?

- Top 10 recruiting class annually
- Highest paid coaching staff in the country
- Top end facilities

Yea, I'm going to be upset with a 7-5, 8-4 season and getting essentially blown out in our first 2 SEC games. Hate to sound stuck up but we are beyond those types of seasons.

Well there was a matter of a little post-season game...slips my mind. I'm sure it was nothing.

I said as much, and it was central to my point. People had absolutely no justification in claiming that Miles wouldn't beat Saban again as of the end of 2009. I think it's still a pretty silly assumption, but there is far moer to back it up now.

Well insofar as I'm not a clairvoyant, you're coorect. But I can offer reasonable predictions based upon available evidence. I think Miles will probably win about 1/3 of games against Saban going forward.

Can't stand Saban or Bama.

Has a lot to do with the exodus of Juniors to the NFL, no?

no one is saying you can't be upset, but to being irrational and emotional and wanting to fire everyone is kinda absurd

in the D, yes to some degree..but not for a total collapse

in the OL which affects the QBs it is by our own doing... Grimes is changing what was to be one of the best OLs in the country .. that's stupid of Grimes at this time and inexcusable of Miles for allowing it.

If this is a "rebuilding" year, what exactly have we done the past few years?

A win in the Outback Bowl? Or were those rebuilding years as well?

that right there...with the offense that we had last year, tells me there are some serious problems...

If you go back and read your thread history, you are one of the bigger negas on here. I remember you from recruiting.....I wasn't posting back then, but you were like the little biatch on recruiting....everyone owned you.

The OL is playing much better than you give them credit for. They opened up some pretty big holes on first down against Auburn. Hell, teams know LSU can't beat them right now with the pass, so they load the box...what the hell do you want the OL to do with they are having to block 8 or 9 and teams are run blitzing.

It also appears you are trying to blame the OL on Harris running the other night. Truth is there were rec's open, and he had time,,,he just doesn't have experience yet...he will gain it.

Stay negative dude, it is becoming of you.

with a 3rd ranked defense

They aren't close to the 3rd best defense.

They've built up that ranking against cupcakes. Their only real strength on defense is their defensive line. Their secondary is average. Even Collins has been struggling in coverage this year. And this is the worst group of linebackers they've had since Saban has been there.

West Virginia got them through the air. Florida has a terrible offense so they weren't capable. However, letting Ole Miss rack up all those yards in the 2nd half on them this past weekend with a completely one-dimensional offense was telling for me.

I'm sure they'll improve, but they have a long way to go defensively before they can be considered an elite team, IMO.

The game is at home, and this game is basically always competitive (except 1/9, but that was a bit different circumstance). I don't necessarily think we will win the game, but I think we have a shot. Plus, we really have no idea what LSU will look like at that point in the season, especially after the bye week.

I predicted 8-4 before the season started. I thought we'd lose some games but didn't expect to get blown out and out maned. But LSU will be fine.

NEWSFLASH !

the DL is ONLY one part of our problem.

the OL was to be one of the best in the country until Grimes decide to go zone blocking...
now the QBs are running for their lives, the D has to be on the field longer...

so yes, IT WAS NOT a TOTALLY rebuilding year..not until the coaches made it so.

So by your definition, it is only a rebuilding yer if EVERY position is rebuilding?

Past year. 2012 was a very good season.

Our problem this year and last year has been the defense. Between the early-departures, not great recruiting on that side, and then a few 4* guys who haven't really made an impact yet; we've really struggled to keep up on that side. Hopefully next year that can change.

The offense has been bad, but the offense never has been outstanding (besides last year). If we had a typical LSU defense that we've all come to know, this year's team would be a lot better even despite the bad offense. Because our offensive style would be tailored to our defense.

The only positive from this season is hopefully impossible to please fans such as yourself that are so out of touch with the reality of a sport involving non professionals fall off the bandwagon. There is literally no pleasing you, and people like you make this site impossible to enjoy.

sorry, but a) no one owns me.. you can go and play your immature game elsewhere. with you insults..talking about a little bitch..I do not even post in recruiting

I am not negative, but I see reality and I can analyze performance since I have been doing it since before you were born.

You want to bury your head in the sand and think you are better because you blindly support Miles, go ahead....I am not that stupid.

I expect performance out of a $ 4MM EMPLOYEE.

The offensive line IS very much part of the QBs problems....that are inexperienced but we should be making their jobs easier, not harder.
