I'm curious to see how Kevin Steele's knowledge of facing a Lane Kiffin offense will play out in two weeks. It seems this would be a huge advantage for LSU, just as A&M should have an advantage with John Chavis' understanding LSU's offensive tendencies.

I don't think any smack talk will be necessary to get either team motivated, but I wonder how fired up Bama players will be to go at their former coach.

I think the average high school coordinator has knowledge of LSU's offense.......

Then why exactly are we seeing some of the best offensive play from the Tigers in a long time?

I swear some of you tools just see things written and repeat them without thinking/watching the actual games.

You're one of these idiots who equate passing with complexity. LSU's offense is far more complex than Ohio State's, for example.

people watch; they just don't see. and they certainly don't think. alcohol is an issue also as it impairs things and certainly slows the connection between the eyes and the brain. then they read a post and say, "yea, that's what I think I saw"

it's like witnesses to a crime or an accident. it seems no two of them can agree on shite.

While It could be interesting to see in the LSU/Bama game, I don't really see how Chavis will play a role against LSU as far as tendencies. Aside from a trick play or two everyone in America knows LSU's tendencies. Pretty basic stuff on our part.

Basic as far as Run/Pass tendencies. Schematically we haven't had to show a ton of wrinkle in the run game do to our great run blockers.

I really don't see a big advantage of LSU having Steele or AM having Chavis in these upcoming games.

I'm interested to see how that angle plays out as well. Certainly can't hurt having him on staff

I'm interested in seeing our defense close down Bama's same old same old un imaginative offense.

LSU's offensive tendencies are to knock you off the ball and let our truck run you the frick over, then let Brandon Harris burn you when you inevitably have to stack the box. There is no secret there. Chavis will have no advantage.

It's not rocket science. LSU runs up the gut until you can no longer take it. Then they go for the throat with play action.

So you're saying you haven't watched them play since they hired Lane Kiffin.

Let's compare:
Passing - LSU
Rushing - LSU
OLine - LSU

DLine - Bama
LB's - LSU
DB's - LSU

Special Teams - Bama

To be fair, his offense isn't that imaginative. He just has a knack for calling the right n plays at the right time.

I'd be interested in seeing what information Steele could provide the LSU offense more so than the defense.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but Jake Coker doesn't exactly instill fear in many people's eyes. Hes about as good as JPW was a few years back. I'd even venture to say he's not as talented as even JPW was then.

yeah I was thinking the same thing. seems like in these situations, his knowledge of some individual defensive players' tendencies may be more of what we get outta this. like if a certain DB bites on play action, or an edge player is known to overrun plays/ lose contain. and his info on that may not be any huge advantage, as our coaches seem to do a pretty good job scheming Bama anyway. it's been execution that's hurt.
