“I think we should,” quarterback Jordan Jefferson said, when asked if LSU deserves a share of the national title. “We beat Alabama before, we accomplished all the major accomplishments to get here, so I do think we should be [first in the AP Poll].”

If JJ says it, it must be true!

No he didn't!

He said he made some Great Decisions.

Like taking a knee on 3 third down after loosing track of the snap. Threading the needle (between the Tackle and Gaurd).Pitching the ball to the wrong team,Option pitching to RB when a Bama LB closing in to decapitate teanmate.

after a lost
I played great
"The" offense couldn't get it done.

after a win
I played great!
"MY" offensive line
I saw the game really well.

Just noticed this thread after composing and posting my other post.

Jefferson played very poorly on Monday. He had a really bad night. I was particularly disappointed in his execution of the option.

It seemed like most of the team was not up for the game. I didn't like the game plan on offense or defense.

I was expecting LSU to execute the passes that McCarron executed against LSU. Rollouts and bootlegs.

I was hoping to see Lee play. I have always thought the backup should get some game time. He might have provided a spark. The Bama defense looked dominant against the o-line, but you never know what Lee might have been able to do. However, as Blackwell said, LSU did not lose because Lee didn't play: "For them to put the blame on one person or one thing is totally unfair, and I hope nobody does that."

So no spreadsheet, then?

Defense was fine. Yes Bama mixed things up on first down but when you're playing in your own territory all night because the offense generates no field position, you will wear down.

LSU called those plays. A lot. Jefferson decided to forgo the pass, and tuck in and run.

I know you don't like to draw attention to yourself, so I'm happy to do it for you.

Hardheaded and determined to prove 'us' wrong (we're the perimeter), and he doesn't' like to be challenged.

So we're they worn out by the early 2nd quarter? They yielded 200+ yards of O in the first half. Most through the air. The d is getting far too much credit for an average performance.

kind of hard to play at 110% when the offense cant stay on the field for more than one set of downs.

How many plays did they run compared to LSU? Bama ran 46 plays, LSU ran 17.

Sorry, when your offense runs 17 plays in a half and gains one first down, I'm going to excuse the defense for giving up yards and FGs.

What, exactly, would you like to see?

Field position? Wing flipped the field plenty of times. Alabama did not have any better starting field position than LSU.

No. Not even close. Nearly all of the pass plays were designed to be thrown from the line (WR screens) or the pocket. And the pocket didn't exist.

You can be a real a-hole when you put your mind to it. Perhaps you should have given the team a pre-game pep talk. Show them what can be accomplished when one really tries.

Not sure how often we called roll outs, but just off the top of my head, without rewatching I can think of 3 times. I know that's not a lot, but we never threw it on any of the 3 I can remember.

A spreadsheet analyzing Jefferson's efficacy as a QB. Numbers are what we crave.
quote:

Field position? Wing flipped the field plenty of times. Alabama did not have any better starting field position than LSU.
Did I say anything about the punt team? LSU's offense did not keep Bama on the field, and did not create any pressure on its defense. Four three-and-outs and a punt is not the way to keep your offense on the field.

An incorrect catch-all statement. JJ rolled out on pass plays plenty, and invariably chose to keep the ball.

Actually, I don't have to try very hard at all.

I agree... For the second half. But the d wasn't getting stops early either. We had zero pass rush all night. Hardly even a hurry and one meaningless sack.

McElwain called a great game. The first play to roll out McCarron and his Smelley -- a sign of things to come. They moved him around a bit and drew up some quick passes to neutralize the rush. I think they got us second-guessing, and they rarely brought extras to pressure him.

Again, for the second half, sure.

But the d was getting beaten frequently. Average coverage, including really poor lb play that we got away with because of a couple of big overthrows would have lead to a gigantic lead.

Not excusing the offense, which was pitiful, but to act like the D was some amazing force on Monday is wrong.

And this thread is just piling on to a poster/player, thought Threads calling out posters were axe worthy on TD.... Guess not.

Right, so we played average, at best?

It's not as if they were running down our throats and wearing us down. They were throwing it at will. They were without their best WR and moving it passing, with ease.

It was our worst D performance of the year.
