It definitely has more to do with the opponent than the bowl game this time around. Last year, people were bitching & moaning about having to go to ATL instead of Dallas. Then when we got spanked by Clemson the uproar was even more ridiculous.

Playing "home" games in Texas is certainly getting tiresome.

You don't want to do that.

1. We also played in Atlanta for the Chik-fil-a kickoff game against North Carolina in 2010 plus SEC Championship games in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2011. That brings the total up to 9 times in 12 years.

2. Cowboys Stadium is possibly the most breathtaking sports arena in the entire world. It's truly awe inspiring.

3.The DFW is probably home to the second most LSU alumni outside of Louisiana and is close enough to drive in for the game from Shreveport and Houston (who has the most LSU alumni outside Louisiana).

4. No one is upset about the Bowl Game, but they are disappointed by the opponent. They wanted a flashier name like Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, or Nebraska despite the fact that Iowa is a higher quality opponent than either Big 10 option.

The sex appeal of opening up in Dallas has gotten old. Especially when your opponent lays an egg the entire season and doesn't help your SOS at all.

I'm strongly considering going because it is in Tampa. If it was at the beginning or end of a week I'd be a lock. I wouldn't have considered going if it was in ATL.

It's not just LSU fans, it's Americans in general. Some just aren't happy unless they are bitching. Unfortunatley all we can do is accept and not worry about them.

Last year fans bitched about playing a good opponent because it was in a "bad" bowl game. This year we got the better bowl game but now everyone is bitching about having to play a "bad" team.

Its pretty funny actually

100% agreement with OP.

Unlikely I will be able to swing the trip, but am looking into it.

This team is obviously not bad at 8-4....if you're using only the records then where does that leave us at 9-3?

I'm def cool with Iowa....revenge for Satan's indifference!!!!

LSU fans cry about the refs, announcers, time of the game, bowl game, bowl game location, opponent in the bowl game. Am i missing anything?

Nothing happed that was particularly unjust or unexpected, people are just pissed that results from another season are so...uninteresting.
