I agree. His performance has been disappointing. Bo Pelini is not helping things either. Aranda had a knack for scheming around players strengths to build a defense. Pelini is old school and makes the players fit the defense. Stevens draft stock has definitely dropped from last season. Big changes need to be made on this team from the top down.

Playing not to get hurt . Several players look like they don’t want to quit but really don’t want to play either .

He went from just being a guy to being the guy. Sometimes when that happens the things that he struggled with before we didn’t notice because other players were the spotlight. When you are the guy every mistake is magnified. See Delpit, Grant last year.

Stevens blew plenty of plays last year too when Aranda was making them “think” too much. Once he went back to his base assignments, the defense played on fire. Stevens just doesn’t know what he’s suppose to do so he either didn’t put in the work to learn the system or he is just halfassing it to get through to prepare for the combine.
