I’m still irrationally angry about the targeting on Sam

The blatant hypocrisy of throwing out Sam, who took the brunt of the hit and didn’t even make the tackle, while bending over backwards to shrug your shoulders at what Dallas Turner did to Jayden Daniels, hitting a defenseless qb under the chin and knocking him out of the game.

It’s Monday morning and I’m still ready to meet the white hat at Sonic.

They really need to implement a targeting 1 (no ejection) and targeting 2 (ejection). I feel like that’s such an easy fix for a rule that has a lot of grey area.

Call the SEC office and tell them how you feel, I did!

Sam’s play shouldn’t qualify for either.

If Turner’s hit wasn’t targeting then nothing is targeting. It is literally the definition of the rule.

Defenseless player - check
Launching yourself to the head and neck area - check
Using crown of helmet - check

Does it hurt Alabama if called targeting - check

Therefore the last point overrules the previous three qualifications

Verdict - not targeting

I think Sam’s was in the grey area I’m talking about. There’s no way to measure what exactly is considered the “crown of the helmet”. They can use player safety as the reason, tack on 15 yards and be done with it. There’s no reason anyone should be ejected for a hit like that.

The question the SEC must answer is which one WAS deliberate and which one WASN'T

That crap wasn't a coincidence.

At end of the day they did flag the Turner hit as roughing the passer.
Maybe you flag Sam for personal foul but it was not targeting when the RB lowers his head and Sam was just making a tackle as he was taught. They have hits with RB's like that all game. The officials on the field didn't see it so I have no idea what made the booth review that while not stopping play and reviewing the Turner hit.
LSU will get the typical SEC response and not one damn thing will change.

Are you one of the fans that is still in denial that the SEC is corrupt and has been fixing games for decades?

If so, you are currently in the bargaining stage, going back to anger. Once you accept reality, you will expect it to happen and not be shocked when it does.

Personally, I still get very frustrated when they purposely allow players to get hurt so they can protect Bama. It is wrong on so many levels, but if you understand the average Bama fan, then it all makes sense. Bama fans have run the SEC and Officiating forever.

And it was phoned down from the booth

And the ref stood there at his little monitor and stopped gameplay for 2 minutes with a headset on

Yet we were told the Turner hit was “reviewed” we just didn’t see it? Really?

It’s all a joke at this point. If the intent of Targeting is to make the game safer you can’t make a mockery of it like the SEC has done the last two weeks.

then please explain the terrible PI call against Bama which cost them the Tenn game last year. Oh, and last year, Bama was the most penalized team in the SEC.

Did the SEC corruption take a year off in 2022? And in 2019 too?

Did UT Target the Bama player and get away with it? Was the Bama player removed from the game due to a concussion?

The SEC nor Saban will mail you a check for sucking their dicks. I'm sorry.

Remember when UT's QB got a broken collarbone and concussion the same day Devin White was ejected for targeting and NOTHING happened to the Bama player?

Let me know when we are at that level of frickery.

OMG that's it. You are correct. ONE year they actually got treated like Saban's teams at LSU (see 2003). Yes, you are correct. Nothing to see here, especially after they got to experience years and years of going through entire SEC seasons without being called for things like holding (while a Bama alum ran the SEC officiating).

Keep carrying that water.
