Tigersbb- any good coach teaches his players to foul their best 3 point guy before he gets in range to shoot a FRICKIN 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You basically trade 1-2 foul shots instead of 3s!!! It's simple

The interview with Simmons post game was basically asking him if he can't wait to get coached up...is he thinking about where he is gonna play next year, can't blame him at the moment that near loss was outrageous
Go back and look at the last two minutes. Watch Simmons put out no effort on defense and just watch them score two layups. Watch Ben miss free throws. That's coaching? I am so tired of everyone acting like Simmons would be such a great player if he was on another team. He was supposed to have tremendous basketball iq before he ever came here. Why does he need coaching?

Now in his favor we should have passed to him more when he flashed in the lane and he worked hard to get in position. Lot's of blame to hand out but this team's attitude is just horrible. They all love offense but no one wants to play defense.

That scenario really never came up. You don't foul there unless you are up 3 with under 7 seconds. You don't foul up 4-10. That's ignorant.

My favorite part was letting them roll the ball literally to within a step of the 3 point line of their goal in the final minute of the game.

He was yelling at Hornsby and Patterson the whole time to stop the ball. And they both kept looking at each other waiting for the other person to go do it. way to be misguided your idiotic rant. Excellent way to get rant tard street cred

That's not what I was saying in reference to the interview . Was simply pointing out that they were mocking the finish directly to him as if he was playing on a joke of a team. Hopefully this will lite some kind of fire under him and the team .

I don't believe they are a joke of a team , they certainly need to play more disciplined until the final whistle.

they gave great effort for most of the night but that last minute of the game is completely mind-boggling

I'm just stunned that he mails it in with 3 TO's left and allows an inbound pass under his own basket in that situation

Where else is he suppose to allow an inbound pass?

Can't advance the ball in college with a timeout.

Nice try... I don't believe in that crap & you know it. Anybody who actually watched the game & says they didn't experience unexpected anxiety is a liar.

Yes, but it was not bad coaching. A sudden streak of missed free throws and a poor decision on an inbound allowed GA to get close.

What kind of coaching genius could have been utilized? Make your free throws, boys.
Inbound the ball to the white shirts.

Dang he's been awful the past 3 years.

L-O-fricking-L

Look, the man is not without his faults. But he has the highest win percentage of a coach in his first 3 years in LSU history. To say he's been "awful" is idiotic and simply not true.

This board is insufferable.

I don't want to argue with fellow tiger fans after a victory especially but I'll give you one.

Call a timeout and get a play drawn up with the ball in your best inbounders' hands, & settle the team down ...poised.

This thread could've easily been titled execution instead of coaching but regardless that finished should've never happened like that. I'm moving on and not thinking about this repetitively .

Gug, Johnny has the best winning percentage of any LSU basketball coach in the last 95 years regardless of whether or not it was their first three years. Don't short my boy CJJ. I told him before the game that his shoes were on point.
