Sorry to hear about your older brother's experience. I agree with you. Georgia fans need to quit whining. I'm still not impressed with the Dawgs.

Sounds like we need a "Paul Harvey-the rest of the story" here. It didn't go down like that, for sure. Spit it out, tell us ALL that went down.

Sounds like his kids, their kids and their kids are going to UGA for free...

OK... I ve gotta raise the bullshite flag on that one.

Posted on 9/23/08 at 4:15 pm to 80sTiger
I also say this is bullshite. Why is this not on the news anywhere?
This is not true at all. Campus Police are P.O.S.T. certified making them "real" police officers. They are allowed to enforce any law within their jurisdiction.

Sounds like BS. There has to be a media account of the arrest. An arrest is a public record. I say "Put up or shut up">

There is definitely a yadda, yadda, yadda at the end...

this would be an incorrect assumption at least in terms of LSUPD. I believe they do have to call the local authorities in order to have an arrestee housed.

def a true story, how is this so hard to believe? have any of you even been to athens?
In a college football forum I used to frequent, there was a Georgia fan who was a Georgia state trooper who was very frank and candid about the fact that he routinely pulled people over for nothing if their cars gave any indication they were fans of rival schools, and wrote them up for anything he could think of, even if it was bullshite. Maybe he was lying, but it sure didn't seem that way.

Through a number of years of practicing in the criminal law field, I can tell that several of you in this thread have had very few dealings with cops. This kind of shite happens ALL the time, EVERYWHERE. I have no idea whether it happened in this case or not, but to assume it didn't just because it sounds so outrageous would be a huge mistake. For every story of cops run amok that you actually read about in the media, there are about 10,000-100,000 across the country that happened that got covered up or just never attracted much attention.

I hope for the integrity of GOOD police officers everywhere he was bullshitting.
There are several police officers in my family
that have served and continue to serve
honorably.
Every so often you get a rat turd in your rice barrel that throws an entire force into disrepute.
If that story is true then that shitbag needs to have his badge pulled for good.
VERY Un-American.

People never lie on the internet.

I've been to Athens a time or two and never had a word spoken to me about me or my car which happens to be emblazoned with LSU stickers.
UGA fans on the other hand... these ppl can be delusional. One UGA guy here firmly believes that they were "2007 SEC East Co-Champions" last year (try fitting that tagline on a bumper sticker...)
