I’m not blaming it on McManus, I’m blaming it on CJJ

This team did what it could, it could have been more.
Can’t mash your way past the number of runs McManus gives up and that’s on CJJ for not developing another option throughout the season.
That said, still gonna enjoy the postseason.

His best defensive option was injured most of the year and the other catcher on the roster wasn’t much better than McManus.
You can’t just develop a catcher out of thin air throughout the season.

You do realize he developed Milazzo and he got hurt right? He is one of the top defensive catchers in the country and JJ got him figuring things out at the plate.

Milazzo was developed long before CJJ got here

I love how idiots like the OP think SEC caliber baseball players are just sitting in dorms on LSU’s campus waiting to get the call up.
He’s not alone either.

An absolute ton of non-SEC caliber C who can block frame and receive all over the place from Juco to non power 5 D1.

You do know McManus was the back up to Millazo. I agree that we had too many fielding errors that cost us several ball games. Coach Johnson has to own that.

If you think Milazzo was going to hit .280 with ten dingers, you're delusional. You can't have his bat in the lineup unless you have a shutdown pitching staff.

Yeah you’re an idiot. You going to blame Fontenot for being a slapdick and not fielding that bunt. Or what about McManus getting crossed up every fricking game. That cost us three runs, we have no left fielder is that Johnson’s fault? What about the lack of starting pitching, is that Johnson’s fault? Take your arse to the cliff and jump off it. Take all the other idiots on here with you.

You can’t have a shutdown pitching staff without a stellar defensive catcher. If you think he was going to hit .135 again after starting .220+ then you’re delusional

Not even close to true! Millazo was as good as they come well before JJ even stepped foot in Baton Rouge!
