I’m not bashing PM or Dunn - but why does LSU pitching struggle?

LSU has Marceaux - Labas - Edwards - Fontenot & Edwards that they seem fairly confident in using in the SEC. What’s the issue with the other guys? Why so few reliable pitchers? I know PM bashing is in vogue....but I would think if Dunn was the problem, PM would have already let him go.

It's called blind loyalty.

See Gerry Dinardo/Lou Tepper for reference.

At least the AD back then didn't wait four years to pull the plug.

Because of Dunn and do nothing Paul. How many more arms can they ruin?

Because only LSU has pitching problems?

With all due respect, sir or madam, you are a jackass.

It has been going on for sometime. If it was once every few years, that would be another thing.

Why does Vandy - Ark - State always have good pitching?

If you think LSU has few reliable pitchers this year, just wait until next year

Labas - gone
Fontenot - gone
Marceaux - gone

"The Transfer Portal"!!! Maybe the new HC can bring in a few pitchers for next year.

They don’t. This is selection bias at work. Vandy certainly has great overall talent on their team - pitching and position players. Their overall talent level is always higher than ours, so it’s not surprising they have better pitchers. They also have better catchers and shortstops, etc. Arkansas would love to hear how they always have better pitchers, especially after they blew that big lead in the opossum game. And Mississippi State had a recent year when their pitching staff was just devastated by injuries.

ZERO coaching when it comes to pitching mechanics and a legitimate arm conditioning program. Kids are on their own in the offseason and summer ball. When they get hurt, same thing.

Paul likes guys on his staff that he can control and won’t threaten his position. It’s why he hires his own players and keeps guys like Dunn.

Simple, gotta throw off speed pitches for STRIKES.
gotta bunt when its time to bunt, gotta hit and run, gotta run the fricking bases. Gotta play the game like its suppose to be played. This coaches have lost the ability to coach baseball.

Lol he must not read the rant much. Everyone bashes mainieri and Dunn. As a matter of fact, saying something positive about them gets downvoted way more. Haha.

They deserve bashing. How many underated pitchers have evolved under their tutelage?

I don't think it's fair to say our pitching always struggles.

I think until the last few years our pitching had been a strength. Nola-Poche were very good as were Poche-Lange. And we did have solid closers (Newman, Hess, Peterson).

Cole Henry was very good as well.
