JaRay is from my hometown. I watched him from Jr High through high school. He had a compound break of his lower leg the first game of his senior year which was devastating for his development and recruiting rank. Also Jena is a ball control/run team.

Ahh, this makes more sense now. I distinctly remember his high school coach on one of the radio talk shows around either his commitment or signing day, and he was absolutely glowing about him. Said he was really underrated and would absolutely see the field at LSU if he stayed healthy. I know all coaches talk up their guys, but just the way he talked about Jenkins came off very genuine and not just sunshine-pumping coach speak. He convinced me.

I figured it’d be hard to break into the WR rotation the last 2 seasons, but was really surprised I hadn’t heard his name much this offseason. I wasn’t even sure I heard it all, and I expected him to be right up their with all the other guys battling for that #3 spot. I thought maybe he had stealthily transferred. So I was pleasantly surprised and very excited to see him out there so much Saturday.

Racey’s out of bounds catch on the first of Brennan’s Hail Mary passes was worth looking at again. It was a beautiful try with his foot only inches out.

I’m surprised not many have brought up the one-handed catch by Marshall—I suspect some don’t want to give Brennan credit for a well thrown ball. But Racey’s out of bounds catch was just as sweet.

As far as Jenkins goes, he has been a pleasant surprise, and I’m sure we’ll hear more from him Saturday. I’m betting offensively there will be a big improvement in both the running and passing game. And our secondary, but I hope that goes without saying

He seems to have the chemistry with Brennan unlike anyone else.

Maybe because they spent all last season practicing together on the second team.

He was out first spark and first pulse on offense where we actually struck when defense kinda new what we were doing and he still snagged that pass in a tight window imposing what we wanted to do.

I felt like the few plays he made gave me tingles of last year with jefferson.

I completely disagree with you saying you hope he devolops into a good wr3.

Imo he is and should be our WR2 unless someone supplants him by showing out. But imo he earned his spot in the target tree. Let these other dudes step the frick up and earn their targets. Gotta go with the hot hand.

I hope he doesn’t consider himself a WR either

There was another time, first play of second drive maybe, where Brennan squeezed the ball and got sacked. Had Jenkins streaking down the middle of field. Could've put it up for a big play and possible TD.

Boutte did look scared, I was disappointed in his look. He must have caught that from his QB, that shite is a disease that spreads.
