14 wins gets you in the tournament
17 wins gets you a host
18 wins gets you a top 8 seed
20 wins gets you a top 4 seed

My prediction is 22-8.

We will lose one series 2-1.
We will win six series 2-1
We will win three series 3-0.

I think we go 6-3 through first 9 games, and then 16-5 the rest of the way.

What say you?

Seems very reasonable. I'm hoping we hit the coveted 20 SEC wins. With how good the conference is, that to me will say a lot about this team.

Tennessee was 25-5 in conference play and 57-9 overall and didn’t win it all.
I say 22-8 is very realistic, but what matters most is being healthy playing our best baseball in June

What's sad is that this board will melt hard if that happens, especially if we go 1-2 in one of the series.

I think with as deep as the SEC is, and with the fact that LSU plays in an actual college ballpark, and not a travel ball park, more than 22 wins is going to be hard to come by.

I think this team will be experienced enough for a deep run. Things happen, and if on the super regional weekend, we face two good arms and our pitchers have an off weekend, we can easily lose. That's what happeend to Tenner.

I think that will 100 percent happen. I predict the 1-2 series will be one of our first three (probably Arky).

I think A&M hasn't gotten it together yet (they may later in the season) and Tenn doesn't scare me... but Ark always plays us close.

Arky is probably the least talented out of our first three, and we get them at home.

Good prediction.

I predicted 11 losses for the entire regular season. I hope I'm wrong and LSU has less losses.

This LSU team is currently exceeding my expectations not with just the number of wins but they way they are winning.

That's what I am guessing. Skenes is so good and consistent that we will win out 7 of 10 Fridays. I think we'll do about the same on Saturdays with Hurd. And I think our Sunday pitching will be very good. That is a luxury in the SEC, and when you pair that with LSU's lineup smashing Sunday pitching, I think we win 8 of 10.

24-6

The real show will start in mid April when the temps warm and wind blows from the south on a daily basis. For those of you too young to remember 89-2000, get ready for the fun. We will NEVER be out of a game. We finally have power throughout the line up. No one can pitch around 2 hitters any more. It will be a fun ride this year.

Maybe not—I haven’t even glanced at their schedule to see who’ve they’ve been playing, much less the box scores, but I think they’ve won 8 straight. Not saying they’re rolling or even playing good baseball (not saying they’re not, either), just that they’ve figured out a way to win some games lately when they weren’t at the very beginning of the season. And they’ve got enough talent to still be respected enough to be ranked around 15, despite the early losses.

This isn’t me arguing with your statement at all. I think they’ll definitely be better later in the year and their best baseball is in front of them. This is just me saying that they’re capable, and we’re not just going to be able to roll the ball out there and sweep them on talent alone. We’re going to have to actually beat them. And if we wind up dropping a game—or even 2—the season will not be over, despite all the threads that will be created suggesting otherwise.

The concern for me with A&M is that they have a bunch of LHP to come in after Dettmer on Friday. We have to jump on Dettmer. Then, they start another LHP on Saturday or Sunday, with more lefty availability out of the pen.

They may not have gotten it together and they may not be an overall scary team. But, we're going to their house, they have some things that may gives us problems, and they will be well prepared.

I predicted we lose the series before the season started. I don't know if I'm still there, considering how locked in some of our guys are right now, but I'm definitely not ready to say we walk right through them.

ETA: A&M's opening 3 series are LSU, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. Have fun.

SEC is loaded and we will get everybody's best shot. I'm fine with 20-10, 21-9.

All 4 of their losses are to the top RPI rated teams they played which are Lamar, Portland x2, and Louisville

They lost a home series to Portland. And it wasnt really close.

The term "calling my shot" does not apply here. You are simply predicting LSU's record. There is no shot to follow.

Meh, it was still late February (I think). Won’t have much bearing on this weekend. Like DRock said, they may not be playing their best baseball right now, but they have some pieces that will make it hard on us, and it’s a tough place to play. Opening SEC weekend against LSU, and you know that place will be rocking.

We could lose the series 1-2, and it wouldn’t shock me. But if we win 2 out of 3 or sweep in that environment—our 1st true road weekend series—against a team with that talent, then that would be quite the accomplishment and a really nice way to start SEC play.

Offensively, they’re very good at running up pitch counts and getting to a team’s bullpen. Skenes going deep into Friday’s game will be key. The difference between their team last year and this year, is that last year most of their lineup was hitting +.300, and that’s not the case this year.
