Anyone complaining over this needs to re-evaluate themselves. None of us have seen him in action in an LSU uniform. If the coaches and players believe he's deserving to wear #7, who are we to say better?

I'll never understand why anyone cares what number a player wears. Mind boggling.

Why is it not okay for people to be confused about why #7 went to a transfer WR?

Save the whole #7 isn't a thing argument, its undeniable these dudes were our biggest impact players and wore the jersey back-to-back:
Patrick Peterson
Tyrann Matheiu
Leonard Fournette
DJ Chark

For what its worth, I think Giles will be stud next year, and will carry on the savageness of #7, but I totally understand why it doesn't sit well with people.

It's funny to hear people "not care" about the #7 tradition until someone gets it that they don't approve of.

What people?

If #7 means something to the players, and it is voted on by the players, then who gives a shite about what some adult on a message board thinks about it?

Fair enough

I feel Like it was less of a thing then. PP7 passed to to TM7 but you’re right.

Giles just better be good.

Because Tiger Fans must complain about something? When first announced, I saw a fan complain that it was going to an offensive player and not a defensive player like had traditionally been done. It was pointed out that the last two #7s were Fournette and Chark--- oops. Retraction.
All these petty, whining complaints end when LSU starts winning at a championship clip. Until then-- welcome to Hell.

Well previous LSU football players have tweeted about it, so more people than just us here on tRant.

I would argue #7 means as much to the players in the locker room today than #18. Different, but equally as symbolic.

I actually do agree with this personally, but its not going to stop people from wondering.

Especially this time of year. I get it when the season starts because I like to know who's on the field when I'm watching.

I don't care what number they wear, as long as I know who is on the field helping us win, that's all I care about.

Why didn't anyone complain about a true freshman (LF) was given the number 7? He had not done anything at the college level, however no one complained?

Greedy should have got number 7 before him.

This is a really, really dumb argument. He was one of the top recruits in the country and chose LSU. There is an inherent difference between that situation and this situation, baw.

My exact thoughts when idiots try to push their negative agenda about Narcisse's accuracy and comparing him to Jefferson.

Who exactly are you to know this?

For all we know both Greedy and White said they were sticking with their numbers.

For all we know this kid has been out working every kid in film, practice and the weight room, and his teammates felt he should be rewarded for it.

For so many people to have such strong opinions on something they know zero about is crazy to me.
