If you want Les Miles gone then you must want Saban back.

Right? Think about it. Saban is very similar to Les but also the polar opposite in many ways.

Nick Saban shows emotion on the sideline, yells at his players when they mess up and runs a very tight ship.

Les Miles rarely gets fired up over his players mistakes. He lets them know when they have fricked up but not in a publicly embarrassing way.

Most Les Miles detractors probably wish Les would yell at the players more because that is what they want to do. That's just not Les' coaching philosophy.

Would Les yelling at the players improve discipline and increase our chance of winning games? I doubt it.

The difference between Nick and Les that matters most is their preparation and game-planning. I give Nick the edge in both, but Les isn't chopped liver. Les' record speaks for himself and it would be even more impressive if he wasn't coaching in the same decade that Nick and Bama are having an unprecedented run.

There is nothing wrong with our coach. If you don't want Les Miles to be our coach, you must want Nick Saban to come back because that is the only way our program would be able to improve.

If you want Nick Saban back then I feel sorry for you.

Thoughts? Flames?

Do you really believe that is the only issue?

Because you cannot possibly want any other coach on the planet.

Because OBVIOUSLY people who are not happy with Miles are ONLY comparing him to Saban.

I dont give damn about any coach but the one at LSU right now. Les is the coach right now and is doing a descent job but not meeting expectations in my opinion.

Your post seems to imply that Les and Nicky are the only coaches worth a damn today. Do you honestly think that Nicky is the only worthy replacment for Les?

Actually my first choice would be Art Briles if he brought a solid DC with him.

Ok, what other coaches out there do you think could compete with Nick and Bama right now? Chizik is the only one to win a NCship recently during Bama's run, and we all know that was really Gus and Cam's doing.

read the Rant

95% of the thread about Miles will inevitably turn into a Miles vs Saban thread

I do read the Rant. I have to remember much of it is fantasy fiction. Like when people make up percentages like "95%" to make a point.

There are many on here and elsewhere who judge Miles on his own strengths and considerable weaknesses in-and-of themselves. Many are tired of his too frequent moments of gross incompetence. And it has nothing to do with Saban.

I don't even think Les Miles would choose Les Miles to coach at LSU if the Nick Saban was available.

This thread is dumb.

Apparently not, considering the overwhelming negative response to this thread. I think fans are kidding themselves or just very very optimistic that another coach could come in here and compete/win against Bama each year at LSU.

if you are asking me if I would take Saban over Miles, and or if Miles left Saban would definitely return, then I will start packing Miles' shite.

I have learned to love Miles, but I needn't learn to love National Championships. I am okay with Miles (even his once a season frick ups), but there isn't a program in the nation that would not want Saban, even if he is a prick.
