I am a former 5A HS football player & 5A + 6A HS football asst. coach + JV head coach. He is honestly 1 of the best, top 5 along with Schneider, Stoops, Patterson, Spurrier, & Saban, coaches I've ever learned from at clinics & camps. He knows how to motivate players & get them to run thru brick walls for him.
At the end of the day, he's still dealing with 18-22 yr old alphas that take matters into their own hands from time to time, for better & for worse.
He's a quality man of character, morals, & work ethic.
There are less than maybe 4 coaches who have beaten Nick Saban in title games. And those victories were not repeated. A better coach than Nick simply doesn't exist right now (maybe ever). A former assistant of his has yet to beat the man head to head.
Coach O recruits high quality student athletes to LSU & gets them to execute remarkably well more often than not. Those that wind up to be bad apples are dealt with, rather swiftly & justly. Unfortunately, those "not" instances are big moments & we have a hard time looking beyond them.
He is going to maintain our program's winning ways & with a little luck (maybe some fan support dusted in on top) he has the ability to get us into the CFP/title game.

I agree. It has been a fiasco, but we have to hope we can overcome the obstacles, bad as they are, and that we can salvage 2018 .
I have to hope that somehow this fiasco can be salvaged without all the doom and gloom. I hate how this has been handled with no effort to find the best OC, but we have to make the bad of a bad situation.

If O wins a NC, you think thats gonna stop LSU fans from wanting to go to the game because they don't like him?
You must not be a Tiger fan at all, if you think that.

I support O, because Roll Tide.

Is this a joke?

For the record, I disagree with the Ensminger hire, but I don’t think it will be an unmitigated disaster like some are saying.

Wasn’t high on the hire. But, I figured I’d give him a chance. He kept Aranda, brought in what I thought to be a new offense that would score points and he (O) would be a good recruiter.
As of today, he kept Aranda....the rest is in the dump with his binder. I’ve been a season ticket holder for 22 years. I live in Dallas (obvious in my name) and it’s costly consumes 3 days to make a home game.
I gave up on Miles and didn’t go to any games in 2014 or 15. I went to 1 game in ‘16 and 2 this past fall. Traffic sucks. Parking sucks. Tailgating is NOT what it was 10 years ago and even then it wasn’t what it was 10 years before that. I hate Alleva. I despise F’King and the BOS I don’t trust. I don’t know how JBE managed to become governor. I moved from BR when Blanco was elected...as I promised I would. It takes a lot to get me to the point of bitching. I gave O a shot to keep his promises, but he didn’t.
Do I think the sky is falling? No. We will probably have 8,9 maybe a few 10 win seasons. But, coaches talked about LSU being “a sleeping giant” before Sabin arrived. I just don’t think O can keep the giant awake and bring us a championship.

While I admit that I have greatly soured on Coach O to the point that I would love to see him resign, I will however continue to support that SOB only because he is our coach! Although that doesn't mean I'm at all happy about it. Geaux Tigers!

I will support the Head Football coach at LSU until the moment I feel he needs to be fired.
Looking forward to the Spring game and Sept 2 game vs Canes.

First that is ridiculous term.
Second what is your motivation behind this?
What are your alternatives to O at this point?
The fact is that he is the coach and for that reason you should support him. A fan can support him even if he doesn't have a great deal of confidence in him. I "supported" Miles because I wanted the Tigers to win but I had NO confidence in him.
Orgeron hasn't been a failure at LSU. As interim and permanent HC he is 16-6 (0.727). Miles was 0.770 in winning percentage but inherited a loaded program.
What would have been your reaction if Herman had been hired and posted a 9-4 record this year? You probably would be proclaiming him a savior.
Orgeron has some warts on his brief tenure. He made a stupid hire in Canada and a questionable hire in Joseph. He certainly appeared undisciplined in the Troy aftermath. He also had some bad breaks with Guice, Lawrence and Key's injuries plus Herron's suspension. He was left with serious depth issues in the trenches.
So, do I support him? Yes.
I am confident he can be championship coach? No.
Do I think Fedora, Fleck or Fuente would have been better? No.
BTW, no whining or bitching on this forum will produce a change in football leadership. Your only choice is to support the Tigers and wish for the best during Orgeron's tenure. If he fails then a change will be made.
Remember there are no sure fire winners as head coaches. People won't be beating down the door to be LSU's next head coach. Florida is a pretty great gig but they got their third or fourth choice in Mullen.

lol another bash O thread. Man you fn losers need a life. He is the head coach, deal with it. Crying like a bitch constantly won't change that.

Why don't you wait and see the product on the field next year, then decide. SE with more depth on the line, a more accurate QB, and better play from the WR group could be better then the last 2 years.

When he was named the head coach, I honestly wanted to believe that he would be good for the job. Surely someone who loves this university as much as he does would do everything within his power to make sure we return to being a championship caliber team...at least this was my hope. I bought into the hype of him surrounding himself with the best coordinators and keeping himself in the CEO role. With his strong recruiting ability, abundant passion for LSU, and the best coordinators in the country, we were finally going to unleash the potential of all the athletes on the roster who have been underutilized by the previous coaching staff. This was my optimistic vision for the direction of the program. Now I’m leaning towards, Ed sold us all a pile of shite and I was one of the gullible ones who bought in. Ed isn’t the man for this job. I can’t tell you who is the man, but I can certainly tell you who isn’t...it feels like we’re going in reverse and it’s frustrating as hell.

I support Coach O and Hope he rights the Ship. If not then it will be next man up. He made a bad move on Canada and did not do a good job of working through and making sure this pick would fit him and his expectations. That is on him and not sure he has Coach Joseph in the right slot as well. He has the next two years to show us and if not like I said above it will be next man up for the job. If that is to happen the current AD can and should not be part of that process and King Alexander the Great needs to be out as well. College Football is now NFL football in relation to the money and expectations. No top tier schools can and will wait to long any longer to pull the trigger. No matter if it is O , Fisher or however you win or hit the road.

Because I will support the current LSU coach no matter the sport until he is no more. I supported Les until he was fired. I understood the firing but until it happened I hoped he would turn it around. I will support O until he is no longer the coach. He will succeed or fail no matter how I feel about it so I might as well hope he succeeds.
No matter if that makes me a fool, positiger, O supporter, whatever name you wanna call me that is my feelings and I won’t change it. I understand other outlooks at the situation and people that feel the need to be angry. There are plenty of people around that BR area that lives are affected by the success or failure of the program. Mine just isn’t one and I learned a long time ago there is no need to stress and complain about things that I have no control over.

1 year coach with a ok record. Will give ANY coach a chance for year two and to improve on just a ok 1st year. He will need to win a min of 9 games to hold his job JMO.
If thats "supporting" in your view then so be it.

I support the players and university. No doubt the jury's still out on O, but I will give O & E & A and all the coaches a chance.
Was not thrilled with Canada's offense. As always, QB is the key to our success.
