Matt Flynn got the job done, no one can argue than, we won it all
You guys are like the bug zapper to my mosquito...I know it's going to make my head hurt, but I just CAN'T stop arguing with you!!!
Matt Flynn's LSU team went on the road as the #1 team in the country and lost to Top 20 UK.
With the #1 spot in pocket AGAIN, Matt Flynn's LSU team lost AT HOME in the final regular season game against an UNRANKED Arkansas. Last play of the game...a Matt Flynn pick in the endzone in 3OT. With one loss alreay in tow, that loss SHOULD HAVE knocked LSU out of any chance at the NC. With flynn hurt, Perriloux stepped up in his first (and only as it turns out) start at LSU to lead LSU over Tennessee in the SECCG. then...in a stroke of luck not seen ever before in college football, LSU gets helps in TWO separate league championship games...most importantly being PITT beating WVU. PITT was ahuge dog to WVY but the Mountaineers choked and PITT beat them. LSU then jumped from #7 to #2.
I really like and respect Matt Flynn, but you guys do him a diservice by continuing to suggest he pulled some magical fricking string in 2007 that got LSU to the NCG.

just give up dude... pick someone and don't try to justify... it is a losing battle. Pick Jim Taylor and BEG someone to argue. Then go to the NFL HoF and pull his stats. man among boys in the NFL...

Gee... I wonder why JR didn't win a NC in 06?

too bad Russell didn't also have the same amount of extraordinary luck and a never happen again set of circumstances that Flynn had the next year

First...he did NOT have the exact same team as JaMarcus. JR had the ebtter receiving corps, but Flynn clearly had the better and more seasoned OL and RB corps. check the stats on rushing yards in 2006 versus 2007.
Secondly...and you may have missed this...JR's LSU team lost ON THE ROAD to a Top 5 UF team that went on to win the NC, and on the road to a Top 8 AU team. Flynn's LSU team lost on the road while wearing the #1 team in the country title to a then ranked #15 (right around there I think) UK team. UK was beaten in Tiger stadium in 2006 by 40+. Flynn's second loss was to an unranked Arkasas team while once again waering the #1 ranking. That loss in alomst ever other year would have ended LSU's hopes for the NC.
Not the "same team" and not even close to being the same schedule...

Do you honestly think there's no drop-off between top-5 teams and top-15 teams?
We can stop talking about this when you admit you're wrong.

Jamarcus may have been the most athleticly gifted quarterback in LSU history, but he made mistakes in the most critcal moments.
And hpw many of those were we behind in because of his play? All of them you say? I thought so.
