I would say this is the best pitching matchup the nation will see outside of Omaha this season.
We may never see this pitching match up again. We may see them in Hoover but pitchers will no doubt be different.

LSU plays 500 games this season? Whoa.

Basketball. And the fact there there is a conflict with anyone tells the story of what's wrong here.
I like baseball alright. And I'll get all jazzed up once the season is narrowing down and your playing for regional position, etc. But the simple fact is that college baseball is still on the "More Sports" realm of the ESPN dial. Just like it is nationally in the public awareness. Nobody cares. Tiger fans get all romped up to follow it but you're still really matching wits with the Cal St Fullertons of the world. Ultimately, who gives a shite?
The fact that we have a multimillion dollar, double A type park to play in, and tons of baseball fans who will stop at nothing to follow the team, but have to hire the Johnny Jones of the world to coach basketball is the real problem.
Basketball is a much bigger potential money maker. Basketball gets you more merch sales, more students wanting to come here, more coverage.
Being good at baseball is still being the best at a sport that nobody really cares about. And I'm not saying that I won't watch, and pull for the Tigers on the mound. But the fact that you have a problem picking which is more important shows the real problem at work.

Well you said it

Maybe some people just actually enjoy baseball more. Basketball isn't even my 3rd favorite sport honestly.

Obviously a lot of LSU fans REALLY enjoy baseball more. But nationally, college baseball is pretty much akin to soccer. It's forgettable. Most colleges don't fund it work a shite and most fans just don't really care.
It is what it is.

So what does that have anything to with what someone would rather watch?
Posted on 3/14/14 at 3:25 pm to catholictigerfan
basketball but Ill be watching both
Posted on 3/14/14 at 3:28 pm to catholictigerfan
Basketball. Too early in the season and baseball win or lose still has two more games to play after tonight

Well, that's a lie.

The same can be said for college basketball considering that teams have complete roster overhauls every other season.

And although, I like baseball a LOT more than basketball, I'm not big on "pitching duels". I'm not a gorilla ball fanatic, but I do like to see some offense. The potential for this game to be a 1-0, 2-0 type ballgame combined with the fact it's game 1 of the very first SEC series makes me want to slightly lean towards hoops - especially when you consider our first two games vs UK and how our last game played out.
Good thing I get to watch both.

Both but if I had to choose; the end of a season over the start of a season most times.

Yeah, I'd say it's more akin to lacrosse or hockey. People in the North generally DGAF about college baseball like people in the South DGAF about hockey.
But even in the North, people care more about college baseball than people in the South do about hockey.

I am focused on LSU Basketball and will be until their last game is played. Generally, March is a college basketball month for me. But I have kept up with every baseball game so far this year and even attended two games in person.
Since I prefer pitching and defense duels in baseball, this game tonight is my kind of college baseball game. I will follow it on my computer, but the MBB comes first in my priorities now.

Surprisingly for me, id choose the basketball game, baseball has tons of games left.
Luckily with modern technology, i can do both
