If we would have beaten Arky, do we win at Miss State?

I feel like this team knew their backs were against the wall after the loss to Arkansas. They knew if they dropped this game it would be hard to keep their momentum going in SEC play.

Silver lining, I think the Arkansas loss was needed for this team to reevaluate and get their confidence back. The past few games, sans Texas A&M, were very close to being losses.

If I had magical powers I could give you a legitimate answer. Elsewise I’m just guessing.

Well, it is quite literally impossible to know the answer to this, but if we're guessing, I think LSU absolutely still wins last night's game if they had beaten Arkansas.

The way they played in the first half didn't indicate to me that they had a heightened sense of importance attached to this game. They fought back, because that's kind of what they do, now. I think they just really wanted to win a big game on the road, and beating Arkansas would have likely done nothing but fired them up even more to go 9-0.

Yeah that's a good point. Its frustrating as fans when they can't really seem to put together a great game for 40 solid minutes, but it certainly makes the games exciting that's for sure.

It is frustrating, indeed. But you're right, it's made for some awfully exciting finishes.

imo it's always better to win

but last two games allowing way too much dribble penetration, help defense has been weak. Taylor having issues catching passes at the rim and Mays' shooting has been wildly off; these guys need to get back on track so team is firing on all cylinders

attitude adjustments and renewed focus are needed

still they are 18-4 and 8-1, gaudy records. Three to four seed right now? Keep winning and they could be a two seed.

What are you seeing that makes you think players need an attitude adjustment?

I feel like one of our saving graces is the fact that all the players seem so unselfish. Multiple guys have been benched and they never seem to pout.

The only thing that's become clear over the course of the conference schedule is that the LSU basketball team loves to trail.

If this team ever learns to attack early and stay aggressive throughout a game, they'll be a contender.

Honestly, I've felt that the way we lost to Fla St and Houston has helped them get conference wins they otherwise would not have gotten.. and I do not think they would have played with the hunger they did last night without the Arky loss.

the problem is that WITH BETTER TEAMS those finishes will not be pleasantly exciting.

they need to develop a "killer instinct" and not just a "survival instinct".

You really think that if we would've beat Ark that coach Wade wouldn't have had these boys ready to play and that they would've not played with the same intensity to win that we played with last night? Cmon now man

Yes, I think that... Maybe would have been different if they'd have showed up 8-0 thinking they can afford a loss. Whereas you lose like they did Saturday and no one has to motivate anyone. Plus MooState was desperate on their home floor and they matched that intensity and I do think it stems somewhat from that loss.

agreed the team is unselfish, just from a a fan's perspective some of the players seem to get down on themselves; just need to buck up a little

and defense needs to tighten up

Of course. I'm merely commenting on the silver lining. There's no question that they can't expect to just rely on second half runs. They have to clean up the turnovers, play much better defense and HOPEFULLY start making some outside shots. But they are good enough at scoring inside that if they can just take care of the ball and hold teams under 80 points, they'll win the vast majority of the time, against just about anyone.
