9 in reg season with chance of 10 in a bowl is good
Of course the bowl game is all but meaningless depending on opt outs on both sides
Than you get to expanded playoffs with better chance to make playoffs where you don’t necessarily have to be perfect

People need to realize Kelly is here for the long haul with the contract he has

We are NOT an elite program right now. We are missing 2 full classes... we have sophomores, freshmen, and transfers.
The portal is nice, but it doesn't give you a full class that has spent seasons in the system, developing. It gives you a couple bandaids to stop the bleeding.

The coach's salary has no impact on the fact that we are missing those classes.

An elite program has tons of depth; if you lose a guy, the WORST CASE scenario is you replace him with a junior who is "merely good" and knows the system inside out. The best case is you have a 5 star freshman who was pushing for that spot anyway, and he takes over.

We ain't there yet. This is the 2nd consecutive year we've have to bring outsiders in to play both corners. Hopefully it's the last.

I really think 9-3 would be good after what I seen Sunday. Reality though is probably 8-4

I think Kelly wins 1-2 NC and is a perennial playoff contender in his tenure here - pre NIL. The things he brought here in program development, and letting our brand recruit for us, have been negated by our slow start on NIL funding. It's a new world in terms of who is appealing to a recruit now. I hope it gets regulated somehow soon.
