I'll go the opposite direction. If Coach O has the opportunity to sign Patterson and he doesn't out of some kind of loyalty to Brennan and Narcisse then he isn't doing everything in his power to make LSU a national power.

THIS. So many "fans" come here and bitch about our bench qb's not playing over our starter. These coaches livelihood literally depends on them winning football games. It would be ridiculous to not pursue your best option out of some kind of loyalty between a head coach and player who hasn't even started a game at LSU.

Patterson would be absolutely perfect to get for next season and bridge the gap while the others get more time

My only question is specifics on his injury and the type of recovery process.

To the person mentioning Eason.. he wouldn’t be immediately eligible and that would interfere moreso with the others. Of course you want the best, but it’s not practical. Shea for one season without having to sit bc of sanctions is absolutely ideal for us.

Narcisse Would be a rs freshman next season right?

Rumors he’s interested in getting out once sanctions happen and the initial rumored school was Michigan. Michigan is not really a good fit according to the writers of the rumors and I actually agree. I just hope Shea sees the talent here and how we are literally a QB away.

Shea can F off, he had his chance to be a tiger and chose ole miss, pass on him. I have about as much respect for him as I do for Ben Simmons.

So either it’s healthy competition and one of them win the job anyway, or Patterson improves the position for our team. What’s so terrible about getting another candidate for a much needed position ?

Brennan and Narcisse should and I think will transfer.

WTF - Brennan could RS next year, with Narcisse getting backups. Patterson is likely "1 and done" and that would be fine. You would have 2 3-year sophomores in 2019 in Narcisse and Brennan - that's a GREAT place in QB development.

But not taking Patterson, now, when it is clearly our most dire position of need is beyond insane. It's petty and petulant.

What can Shea and Dad do to the program that hasn't been done to it in the last 5 years?

For all the years we cried of getting mediocre quarterback play......why not nab one of the best if the offer is there?

Exactly - AL signed the best DT QB in the country last season when Hurts was only going into his Soph year. You go out and get the best talent available - period.
Shea would kill it at LSU. But sounds like nonsense rumors.

He tore his ACL. This isn't 1980, athletes come back stronger from ACL injuries everyday.

Not ready yet which is why Etling is starting. Shea is currently on another level than any QB on our roster.

Brennan has potential but might not be quite ready for lights out next year.

Anyone that thinks we shouldn't pursue Shae is the reason this board is a joke.

Goodness people.

He's one of the best QB's in the nation. Canada or whoever would have our offense scoring 35 a game with him running the show.

Also if we got him.....AJ Brown may follow him...

This is all speculation anyway, but one of the current QBs either Brennan or Narcisse likely won't stay on the team their whole career anyway whether Shea Patterson were to come next year or not.

Probably the same people that wanted O to get the job. Go run a fricking trout line or something.
