Apparently, it's not a discussion, Lynx.

If you had read the thread, what I was trying to say was just that Rohan was a great QB with great touch on his throws. I was not actually trying to compare him to JR, I was just trying to say that with that type of talent around him, he would have won the whole thing. I see where it was taken as a comparison and I apologized, because JR was a great QB in his own right. Of course, Rohan could have screwed up in other ways. He wasnt' perfect by any means. It started as a way to compliment Rohan and it turned into bashing JR and that is not what I intended.

JR, the second half of 2006 was the best LSU QB I've ever seen.

Ro was a very good college QB, but JR was in another stratosphere. LSU may never have another QB drafted as high as him. He has physical tools that have not been seen at the college level in a decade (maybe more).

he wants to sit on his tool. JR was drafted high because of that cannon arm.

So choosing a guy who indeed did lead his team to an SEC title

didn't we have 3 losses in 2001? stop comparing the teams now because 2006 > 2001. 2006 also had a harder schedule, and 2006 was not ever skull fricked like UF delivered to LSU in 2001. just stop. 2006 was just not as lucky

over another guy who did not,

JR set records

JR had just as impressive of games (MSU 2006 is almost impossible to beat)

we beat our overrated opponent from the midwest in the sugar, just like rohan did

Sorry for coming off the wrong way AlaTiger.

I completely agree with your assessment in the paragraph you just typed.

LSU Offensive Talent Now > Then.

If we had a QB like Rohan this year I would give LSU just as good a shot at repeating as any team in the country.

decisionmaking, intangibles, etc.

JR is prolly the best decision maker at QB in the modern era

look at his completion rate

look at his ypa

look at his low INT #s

JR was the best QB in CFB in 2006. rohan never came close to this status

Rohan was a great QB his SR year at LSU,especially starting with the Alabama game.Russell certainly was outstanding, but to pin Davey's career as 'good' and Russell's in the 'startosphere' is insane.

And if Napoleon had a battalion of Abrahams tanks, we'd all be speaking French today.

I stop here. You my friend, are totally clueless about college football talent. Unless you are being sarcastic, this is one of the most ludicrous statements I've ever read here.

If Napoleon had an F-16 fighter jet, the French defeat the Russians at Waterloo.

look at the stats again. look at the schedule again. then get back to me

JR was an amazing QB. not athlete. not specimen. Q-U-A-R-T-E-R-B-A-C-K. he was the complete package

davey had much better RBs in 2001 and similar WR talent (reed, meyers, clayton weren't exactly chopped liver). and he had robert royal, right? you people act like rohan had to play with 10 terds on offense

If anyone is the clueless rantard throughout Russell threads its YOU. Unless some anoints him in a thread/post that he is the greatest player in the history of Earth, you burst into tear. If someone else compares some other player to him or suggests another one may have been better, or had a better year is NOT the equivalent of saying Russell sucked.Just because someone thinks Davey from time to time may have had better games or even was better, doesn't mean they think Russell was 'shite'.

He was on the sideline. Was Rohan? What has Rohan given back? A guy I know talked to Joe Addai the other day and said Joe told him he doesn't really keep up with LSU much. He keeps up with Texas some. So, is Joe now the enemy? Come on.
