Since Texas would be the next Big 12 team to be selected for the Sugar Bowl and push us down the list?

Texas wouldn’t be in the top 12 if OU won.

Better than UT winning, taking the Sugar Bowl bid, and OU being an at-large.

Yes but doesn't Sugar Bowl have to take a Big 12 team? So if OU makes the top 4, who is next? Texas?

The question is, does the Sugar Bowl HAVE to take a Big 12 team, regardless of where they are ranked?

If the answer is yes, then that takes a spot from LSU. If the answer is no, then UT would be eliminated with a loss because they would be way down in the rankings.

Yes. Texas or WV would go to the Sugar. Being at 10, they have a little more wiggle room. I think they are safe.

Yes. Even if they’re ranked #25. It’s either the winner of the championship game or in the case they’re in the playoff it’s the next highest ranked team from the conference.

The Big 12 doesn’t take a spot from LSU in the Sugar. If Texas is in it just means Oklahoma is either in the playoff, or Texas beat them moving Oklahoma to an at large somewhere else...which would mean Ohio State is in the playoff, shifting Michigan to the Rose opening up their at large spot.

I thought that if Texas beats OU and Northwestern upsets OSU, we would be left out. Is that not the case?

The sugar won’t matter to us

It’s if Texas wins OU now may take an at large bowl.
