It was a joint decision. They both agreed they needed to go to the spread, and Ensminger was the one who suggested the hire after hearing Brady’s presentation to the LSU staff.

E has been an OC for a number of years, for several different teams. He’s been fired from all the other stints. This is his first real success. Let’s hope there is another idea guy to pair him with and O can recruit said person.

O said SE asked for help to change the offense. LSU offense next year depends on the performance of the QB a lot more than Joe Brady.

I think Ed has matured since the Canada debacle. He knows now what it takes.
If E has matured likewise and can handle it, great. And if not, I expect O to supplement E again.

Brady was here to implement what Ensminger could not design. He didn't understand the modern pro-level concepts of the spread offense. As a play-caller, O trust Ensminger.

CEO and Slinger discussed how to put in a modern spread and Steve brought up Brady. They both knew at that point that neither of them could do it. Duhhh

Ensminger needs to be supplemented regardless. It makes his job easier. He stated that himself in an interview. Joe Brady communicated with Burrow during games while he focused on the next possession of plays.

If Ensminger had been capable of producing these kinds of results on his own, there would've been no need to bring in Brady.

If Ed didn't trust 'Slinger intimately, he would've never brought Brady in. This turned out far better than anyone could've dreamed and its because Ed and 'Slinger dropped their egos to the side and embraced this!
