LSU would have kicked off and Arkansas could have scored a quick TD. Then Arkansas could have kicked an onside kick, recovered and then beat us on a 2-point conversion or in overtime. If LSU does not score and just runs out the clock then nothing happens (just like it played out). In addition, we have a whole mess of hurt DBs. Giving Arkansas the ball back increased the chance of giving up big plays or getting another player hurt. I'll take the W and recommend not betting on college football...

Better odds of them fumbling the snap in victory formation than your scenario playing out

That’s a lot of ifs.

I’ll give you one. If we fumbled on the next play, they are one bomb from beating us.

We need the first down on the first fall down run. The second one, you have a point...

I don’t disagree with you. But after he slid, the next call should have been victory formation. Instead we ran plays and risked a turn over. Why? If Miles had done that shite. . .

We could’ve fumbled and then Arky would only have had to score once to tie. Victory formation or take the points.

Don’t worry about the idiots who gamble on sports. They all either make a few bucks, or they “break even”. Just ask them.

Ok so then please explain why the hell he went down short twice on purpose, but then tried to score on his 3rd attempt? I get killing the clock, but why the hell reverse course and then try to score?

A lot of what ifs in your little scenario that you played around with in your head.

Nobody really has a problem with Broessette taking a dive before scoring. The problem is we look like a junior high team out there not kneeling the ball after he did it or not taking him out/telling him to score and letting him do it again. It looked bad all around, we were winning the game regardless unless something drastic happened no matter what happened, he scored/he kneeled.

The game should have never came to that. Arkansas is horrible this year.

But LSU didn't go into victory formation. They had Brosette run twice. Head scratching after he went down considering his fumble issues.

What Brossette did has no logical explanation. If you are going to run out the clock then get into V formation and run it out. Why fall down...TWICE and then try to score on the next play.

That sequence is the perfect exponent of an ORGERON run team. Utter confusion about the process. That folks is what LSU traded for the awful CLM and make no mistake CLM was awful.

correct. If what the OP is saying is the correct thing to do (which I agree- it is) then you can kneel and not risk a fumble.

this. Great job by NB4 to realize he had the first and go down.

After that is what confuses me. Kneel on the 1st down run.

Taking victory formation at the goal line is viewed as insulting to the opponent. Running an actual play is the more respectful way to run the clock out in that situation.

Sorry you lost your bet. You should have known that LSU always struggles when playing at Arkansas.

Good points. Particularly the injury issue.
