Except for Kelly having no history of being a complete fricking dunce like 0.

Exactly I don't mind a 7-5 season this year. But next year he needs to make the changes in his philosophy. People are actually going to run with Heupel had a better roster last year and UT has more recruiting advantages than us, and built in advantages. Come on get serious they hit lottery on their coach but nobody wanted that mess.

Read the below article. Hooker transferred when Pruitt was head coach, then got fired a few weeks later.

https://atozsports.com/nashville/vols-jeremy-pruitt-assistant-hendon-hooker-tennessee/

quote:

When Hooker transferred to Tennessee, Jeremy Pruitt was the head coach and Jim Chaney was the offensive coordinator. Flash forward a few weeks and Pruitt was fired due to an NCAA recruiting investigation and Josh Heupel was hired as Tennessee’s head coach. Heupel obviously didn’t retain Chaney, which meant Hooker was facing a completely different situation at UT than he signed up for. But instead of transferring again, Hooker decided to stay and stick it out.

So your saying he will change his offensive philosophy next year? If not expect little progress unless we have two TE like UGA, their Oline and defense.

He developed him. Look at what he did at VA tech. He would have taken Hooker no matter what, he would take anyone that would come at the time.

I'm saying Kelly has a track record of success and the 0 is not 1/10th the coach Kelly is. I have no idea what he will do, but I have faith in him rebuilding the mess that moron swamp monster left us.

Were you not paying attention when Pruitt left and they had a crazy amount of Transfers? I remember it was like their entire roster because we tried to get Wayna Morris and Henry Tototo

Literally and article about the "mass exodus"

So they played with under 40 scholly players in their last game last year and had a non QB play QB?

You realize how laughably stupid it is to claim anyone had a "way more depleted roster" than us after last year?

From a roster stand point, developing players as student athletes and in the weigh room probably nobody better except maybe Saban. I just worry that we will be stuck like Jimbo is with a system that is outdated unless he get a roster like UGA and can get away with it.

Exactly. Also, our recruiting rankings are almost always considerably better than Tennessee yr to yr.

You're hurting their feelings in this thread.

Truth is Kelly is getting paid 9.5M to have the program not look like O was still here. That's failing to happen. It's BK's job to go get a stud QB and find an OC that can game plan and make the offense successful.

We saw very few 50/50 balls downfield that with the talent we have at WR, should have been more 80/20 LSU favored to catch.

Losing to UT isn't the issue, getting beat down in your own house with a lack of focus, execution, and competition is.

If those players that sat out of the bowl game transferred instead of coming back to this team then you would have a point. That is what he dealt with.

TN lost over 30 players to the transfer portal after the cheating Bama Baldie (CJP) left. The roster was in horrible shape.

Heup is just great at working with what he has. Going to be really scary after the roster is filled with his own players.

They didn't make a bowl they were so bad.

I love how you say that like Nuss wasn't on the roster and just chose not to play but ok.

You really want to compare talent that was left for Kelly vs Heupel?

Play that victim card if you want to but Tennessee was gutted and Heupel rebuilt them. Baylor was gutted and Rhule rebuilt them.

Stop acting like this is some multi-generational turn around,

Reality is we should be 5-1 with this squad. But keep blaming it on talent and not pointing out all of our nfl players we have

Stop using that lame excuse. So many players were suspended, out with injury, or sitting out that returned to the team this year. That is lazy and not doing research.

Drop some "truth" on us and name them.

And LSU had 39 scholarship players in our bowl game last year.
