If LSU had an easier schedule, do you think coach O bashers would let up a little?

It's been such doom and gloom about coach O since the luck of the Irish pass at the end to win the game and then it snowballed when we lose a major recruit to Bama that O thought he had in the bag along with the Ensminger hire (which was a great one I think). People think they can ALWAYS see the writing on the wall about the future and that simply is not always the case. I think most O haters think LSU will be lucky to have a winning season so they already have given up on him. If our schedule was not the hardest in the country, would there be less hate for coach O?

Most people don't think that he's qualified for the job. He'll have to prove them wrong on the field. Pundits projecting 7-5 this season isn't helping that feeling.

We have MIA, UGA and UF, with Bama missing both and playing Louisville.

Switch our schedule with Bama's and this argument is over before it's started.

Bingo. I don't care if you like him or hate him, he was never qualified for this job and never will be. I have a big problem with people being given jobs that they don't deserve.

Anyone on cloud 9 about O is dumb.

Anyone bashing O is dumb.

This is the season to judge him. Does he meet expectations?

Skepticism based on his past performances as head coach does not mean doubters have given up on anyone.

Coach O's claim to fame at LSU right now is this insane hot streak they've hit during recruiting. Problem is, we had an absolutely stellar recruiter that was fired not even two years ago.

Expectations for Coach O are to get LSU to consistent playoff contention and back to consistent SEC championship contention. Anything less than that, and we are back to square one with a coach that can recruit but only wins 8-9 games a year.

Schedule should have nothing to do with how anyone views coach O's success. I remember a time when we wanted to play the toughest schedule to show people we could dominate anyone. Now we are wanting figure out if our head coach can get a pass if he has an easier schedule.

Expectations for LSU football are high, as they should be and I hope they always stay there.

Don’t blame the fans. That’s donkey shite.

Losing to Troy, blown out by State, losing the Bowl in that fashion, not retaining the OC you hand picked is sabotaging himself.

Maybe if he wins the games he’s suppose to and a couple he’s not he’ll earn some respect. Or do we just give out respect for no reason? I know it’s 2018 and no one earns anything anymore, so maybe that’s the case here.

People don’t want to admit that the reason LSU is predicted to only win 7 games is largely because of the head coach.

But for Aranda, that’d probably be 5-6 win prediction.

Why would a team with Top 10 talent...more talent than Auburn, A&M and comparable to UGA, etc., be predicted in this way if it had a competent coach?

For those that say we lack talent, that’s still on O. He’s been running recruiting for 4 years.

This team, staff and these expectations are all his...win or loss.

Honest question. How is the schedule any harder than when Florida was the best team in the East and LSU played a middle of the road team from the East? Now, it's just flipped. We still play the top team in the East and Florida was 4-7 last year. The SEC West is not as good as a whole as it was a few years ago when it was by far the premier division in college football. We've played quality OOC games before with Oregon, UNC, TCU and Wisconsin twice. The year's schedule seems to be more normal and than the outlier to me.

The guy had an easy schedule last year and still lost 5 games.... they lost 2 more in 2016 with one of the best D's we had. There is reason to be skeptical

So it's established, the schedule is officially the excuse for O this year.

I'm glad this has been decided ahead of time. There will be more but "brutal schedule" is the early leader for sure.
