If they go 9-3 and do that, they're fine.

He survives for one more year, unfortunately, which will be the dagger into the heart of the program.

The amount of the losses are equally important. If we lose by double digits to the SEC powers, that could doom O. In what is effectively his 3rd season, there would be not excuse for not being competitive with anyone, let alone multiple teams.

You have to wonder if we’re like 100 in offense how Ensminger keeps the Job.

Continue its cannot be your only selling point.

Yes, if LSU goes 10-3.

It’s a safe bet that should the records be 8-4 or worse (being optimistic) for 18 and 19, LSU will have a new coach in 2020. Yawn......

It’ll be a travesty if we all begin accepting results we ran Les Miles off for. Les goes 9-4 but it’s ok for O to.....what in the blue frick?!

I really hate that a 9 win season was a failure under Miles and is considered a success/acceptable under Orgeron.

Did you think Les should have been fired?

If there was any possibility of someone with Orgeron's credentials being hired, Les should've been retained until we had our ducks in a row.

That's a reasonable take, though doesn't answer my question

I guess my point is, in the case of Les Miles, it depends on who's available.

I don't subscribe to this idea that he had to go no matter what. There are SEC programs that would kill to have his performance record of even the past 5 years, let alone when we were competing in SEC championships and NCs.

It depends on who they could get, who the fall back plans are. If your worst case scenario is Ed Orgeron, they need to wait and make sure they have a better fall back plan before they pull the trigger.

But that deal was personal between Alleva and Miles, at least from Alleva's side. He wanted a coach he could control.

It’s more than likely going to happen. 9-3 with those loses, no changes.

Ensminger was hand-picked by Orgeron. Their wagons are hitched together, as they should be. There will be no new OC without a new head coach.

So I assume, because you didn't make it clear, you are saying that LSU goes 9-3 in the regular season with those as the only 3 losses. If that is the case there is no way Coach O isn't back and then he will have a decision if he wants to continue with Ensminger next year which will entirely depend on our offense this year. But the reality is both with be back for a 9-3 regular season with all 3 losses coming to teams ranked higher than us!
